Really Excited

I am so happy and I thought I'd meantion this because I couldn't find a thread about it anywhere else. On NC Stefan added something very cool earlier. In the rights you add:
NPC Code:

rw NPCS/*
rw WEAPONS/*
rw CLASSES/*

To limit access. If a person has npc-contol enabled and npcrights=true in server-options, you can make it so that the person can only read, only write (not sure how that would work out...only create npcs and not edit them?), or disable an entire category! I was excited, had to share it.

Very nice update.

Yeah, he just added that to Graal2001 too. I haven't tried it out yet because I am lazy :p .

Very welcome update.

indeed...I was thinking of totally asking him to add it to ftp so you can upload scripts without using nc, just drag and drop into rc, same with copying, that would be nice. The attributes could be pasted at the top in comments or something...

how can you totally disable the category?

Just turn on the npcrights=true in the server options and don't put that category in the player's rights.

Devil 03-18-2003 12:59 PM

I thought to disable it you put npcrights=false ;/

npcrights=true would mean rights are enabled, meaning you have to go out and add rights to everyone.. if you set it to true, and you haven't added rights to anyone, nobody has access
