Stores and Bmode.

Ok, a hypothetical situation, I spent hours in a dungeon, until I have enough cash to buy a certain something. But I'm on battle mode. I head to a store, and wait, and wait, restock after restock. Suddenly, a stronger warrior runs in, kills me, and takes a portion of my money. I'm now short to buy what I'm seeking, and now I must return to the dungeons to make more money. I think something should be done. I have 2 solutions.

1) You can select exactly what you are looking for, but not the really rare stuff (special rings like RoF-RoW, or strong spell books, like create bomb, or destruction, stiff like that.)

2) Make the stores a no-PK zone, yeah, it's not very RPish, that's why I don't like this idea, but it's still worth mentioning.

suggested for 10 times...
I did too..
I said to make it so when you slash or any damage thingy the opposing player wont be hurt and the store owner will be saying stuff like "Get out of my store you trouble maker" then he warps you infront of store.

Heh, I never knew :D well, it's a good suggestion either way, I think.

1) Retarded
2) Leet

Problem with 2...when people clock items and sometimes pushing doesn't help, pking/brute force will have to be used so no =p

Easy way to get rid of blocking people. Push them to the side, they'll push back, then quickly run to the side, and they'll keep moving, then quickly grab the item and run :p It's how I got a certain IWD :D

actually that is RP like :-/ its called a badit that uses "Hit and Run"

1) Don't idle
2) Don't idle in BMode
3) Try to stay on the other side of the table while you wait, the better to avoid getting splattered

But yeah, it'd be cooler if they make you sheathe your weapon on entry and kick you out if you unsheathe it.

1) I'm have to idle, I'm waiting for a friggin item to appear.
2) I'm on bmode to make more exp.
3) Yes...that really helps against people with 5 speed *pfft*

This really needs to be added now. I was attacked by someone who can't fight without casting diseases on me, and nearly died cuz of lag.

I think you should be able to ask the store clerk for a particular item .. it would just cost more because he'd have to look for it.

About losing money while in the store ..

.. either get out of battle mode .. or carry a little extra money .. I mean, you don't really lost that much .. the most anyone on the server would lose in one death is 100 (level 25 people) .. yeesh. -_-

Kaiser2 03-01-2003 04:47 AM

Yes, well, look at it from the perspective of the newer players, where it's hard to make money, even worse to make above and beyond, though the idea for paying the storekeeper a little extra to go look for the item is a good idea, though he can sometimes fail, and won't look for certain things (RoW, for example)

OK, enough is enough, I can no longer put up with the fear of dying whenever I sell my items. My armor lowers my charm, so to get the full sale value of my items, I must take it off, but that leaves me exposed to attack, and without my armor, a strong warrior can smite me in a single blow. What I propose is like, invisible cops, sorta, like, if you die in certain levels (mainly non-kingdom island towns), the person who killed you gets a message like "Stop, criminal! You are under arrest!" and the PKer is placed in a level like a jail, and they stay there for a limited time. The victim though, gets a message like "A local doctor has saved your life!" and you wake up in bed in a house in that town, without losing any items, etc.

You know it takes 1 hour to change from peaceful to battle now? Not a life-altering decision. Battle an hour, change to peaceful, go to market. It's an imposition, but you're the ***** who Absolutely Has To Be In Battle Mode.

Kaiser2 03-02-2003 08:47 AM

Why waste money for a ferry evertime you need to switch modes? Unless you want to walk there x.x I'm talking from the viewpoint of a standard player, you wouldn't enter one treasure cave, return to the island, switch modes, return to main, sell items, wait the rest of the hour, enter another dungeon (I say 1 dungeon because the amount of stuff you gather from there will wiegh you down)

Tyhm 03-02-2003 09:15 PM

The peaceful/battle house is still there, it was only the item/exp house removed, or so I am told

Kaiser2 03-02-2003 09:59 PM

Last I heard, you can only change modes on the kingdom islands, if you're in a kingdom.

I don't think that's the case Kaiser might want to try it out, I am not sure but I don't think Stefan would of done that for people who didn't want to be in a kingdom such as Shrimpiepoo
