Bomy Moon, aka Pker Central, aka Something for Everyone and Everyone for No one
 

This honestly is making me sick. Sure, a good thing about how Bomy Moon used to be was that it was a combination of both RPing and Pking. Note the use of 'used to be'.

Today when I got on, I was pked roughly 8 times in a row.
First, I get pked trying to do an RP event
Second, I got stuck in that annoying table trying to escape the first pker, and got pked again.
Third, I get pked walking to the healing area
Fourth, I get trapped in by black boxes while trying to heal and get pked again.
Fifth, I get pked trying to go to an event.
Sixth and Seventh, I get pked on the way out of the event.
Eight, I get pked while AIMing a staff person complaining that it's too easy to get pked on BM.

Now, I know Pking is a fact and I should just deal with it, but what I don't understand is why Bomy Moon seems to cater to pking. There are only a few safe zones, there is a moveable table in the unstick me house which only seems to have the purpose of trapping people so they can be pked, there is even a top pkers board! Not to mention the fact that people who are good at killing things seem to get rewarded more than people who like to RP.

The Staff of Bomy Moon has to choose who they would rather have as active visitors, people who love to RP and have fun events, or people who like to kill each other for fun.

Now, I can already hear those flames being written. I'm not saying all PKers are bad, but there has to be some end to rampant pking. Also note, all ye staffers, that I'm not flaming any of you. I haven't pointed out any names and I haven't said anything like "omg bomy moon sux0r lelz". So please don't bother posting any of that. This is all my opinion, however many people have agreed with me when I commented on this. It’s easy for you staff to dismiss Pkers, because, hey, all you have to do is put on a tag and they can’t hurt you. But please keep in mind how the average player must feel.

Also keep in mind how the average new player will react to all of this. Somehow, I doubt they will want to keep playing after getting pked over and over and over.

PKers should go to classic, GBM was made for community and RPing, not mindless slaughter. I come to GBM to get away such things.

Agreed, but some of the staff I've talked to about the PKing said that BM was made for PKing also. x.x

Graal Bomy Moon wasn't made for player killing. Back in the old Bomy Moon, where almost everyone was in a kingdom, it was not about player killing. I guess that that sort of attitude has changed.

PKers make me money, so I dont have a problem with them

Let me introduce you to a friend of the non-PKer, known as the P key.

The P key also has some friendly brothers and sisters known as the u, n, s, t, i, c, k, spacebar, m and e keys. When used in a certain order, they can have excellent benefits for non-PKers.

But that doesn't always work.
And it's a pain to walk all the way across the map again just because of a pker. And chances are you get attacked on the way back-or the pker is still there.
Something DOES need to be done.
There's plenty of pking servers-I don't want 2k1 to be one of them. 2k1 is supposed to be a fun server-not a mindless pking server.
There are plenty of free servers for that.

But there's more than that, Arwen! After you can't move, you get to walk ALL THE WAY BACK to wherever you were!
The point is, i don't want to be forced to pause and unstick back just about every time i see a person, just because i don't have a sword.

PKers balance the economy...

If there wasn't any PKers then there would be no need for houses. If there isn't a need for the houses then the rent would be free... If the rent is free then houses are gained and one person gains alot of money.

So if you do something about the PKers, then I want my houserent to be 0g/week. Because otherwise there is no reason for me to hold it.

Yeah too bad no one owns any keys to any houses and that I don't think anyone (unless you haven't gotten any sleep) has even earned 1k yet.

PK'ing is fine, but if what Arwen says it's true then that's a problem. These safe guard elements that protect you from PK'ing aren't functioning yet (house rentals and no PK zones) so therefore it's no use saying that.

Ive made about 100g from pking. i usually give my earnings away. but i bought a winged helmet.

for the record IM NOT THE ONE WHO TRAPS PEOPLE I DONT PUT IT THERE >:O.

What I think should be done is make the admin house a no pk zone. Kind of like the newbie house on classic. It makes sense to me since its mostly used by people trying to avoid pkers. That alone I feel would be a major releaf to non pkers. I'll talk to Jeff about it tommorrow. :) Of course I'm sure he'll read this before I see him.

Then people will stand outside the admin house swinging their sword like mad. I think Bomboria should be a safe area. No PKing in the city limits.

No differnt from Pausing or using the bomy shell and popping out to slash your sword and pause/shell again.

Okay, I am considering the following solutions to the evident problem:


First off, the removal of Black Candies since they are no fun for anyone except those who lay them.


Second off, the restabilization of the Admin House table, as it seems to often be used to block the unstuck point and/or the door.

Third off, we will auction more houses.

No-PK zones would remve the playerkiller's function of economic stabilization.

Some ETs use black candies in events. Maybe you could make Black Candies ET only? Just a thought.

black candies autodestruct for now, maybe i'll restrict them to ET later

I disabled the black candies a few days ago (one of the two weapons).. dunno if someone re-enabled them or not x.x

Id like to point out that Arwen has 2 deaths.

Nearly pked... literally down to 2 health, and in one case I had to drop some money for them to go away which was pretty much the same as being pked. Another time I had to use all my bread, etc. to heal which cost a lot of money (for me, anyway), becuase the spar area was trapped by black candies (before they were removed). And in yet another I was forced to spend a long time paused, which was a big waste of time when I had stuff I needed to be doing on graal. You should remember that, MrCharles. You were the one doing the pking ;)
These are equal to pking in my eyes, and are caused from it, and are just as annoying.

But I probably should have been clearer. x.x;;


/edit. And I'd just like to point out that when I was watching my little brother play he walked by you, and I warned him to be careful and not get pked. His response was "Oh, don't worry, he's my friend I don't think he'd be that mean". You promptly walked over and began to slash at him :( Whatever, it doesn't matter. It's just the very reason I don't like pking on BM

...thats because thats what i do.. pk. he is kinda my friend... I know him. we used to be better friend but he like quit for awhile.

I dont know maybe I'm just special but I almost never have people try to pk me and when some one does I stand my ground and they go away. Just my experience

In regards to people standing outside the admin house and attacking. Thats not pkin they would be able to hit you once and then you would get pushed back into the house. So yes a person might do that once or twice for a few minutes but they would quickly grow bored of hitting people for no cause. Not to mention almost any one walking by would attack that person for being a lamer.

I don't know, I mean, I'm very sick of Farin purposely coming after people like me just because he can. I'm a slouch at combat-- I don't do it well and I think most people know that I'd rather get into an intellectual debate with someone than fight them off with my meager bamboo stick. I really didn't want to comment on this, but I do think something should be done to limit the amount of playerkilling-- I liked Oryan's suggestion, making Bomboria a non-PK zone... and... yeah.

Had to add something here; Farin is a lamer. He used to trap people using the moveable table in the admin house which is how he got most of his kills. I know that that was popular, but if you take the kills away, the kills he obtained by doing that, I'll bet'cha it's a lot. He may deny it, but I remember him doing it to me; Arwen and I had to call in Tupper to warp us away because he kept sitting there waiting for us to unpause. It's just lame. That's not player killing. He'll claim after he kills you once it's all over, and he won't kill you again, but don't fall for it. He comes right back a couple of hours later and kills you again. Bloody annoying if you ask me. :\

Dude... I DONT TRAP PEOPLE. God. ive maybe killed like 3 people in the H, but most escape, you cant even hit it without it moving, and its pretty easy to get free from. And I didnt even trap you =/. Take away the kills from the H table you would probably have to subtract about 1-3 kills. Plus, what would you know about it anyway? were you following me and watching me PK "so" many people from the H? No. I just PK around the admin house.

Obviously if I tell you i wont kill you again im lying, idiot.

If you dont wanna sit there just unpause and die. yes I might kill you again. It takes like 5 seconds, but most people choose to drag it out.
