Horrible

The lag on the server's end has gotten progressively worse over the past few days, and now it's at an almost unbearable point. Every 30 seconds almost there is a lagburst. Most other people have noticed this too. When can we expect it to go back to normal?

Yes, I have noticed it, and it gets really annoying, I can't even take off armor to cast a spell without having to wait a minute before lag wears off.

NPC couldn't stand it anymore and exploded

zell12 02-18-2003 03:46 AM

Probably ed and his bullet storms :)

Shrimp Okonomiyaki 02-18-2003 03:50 AM

Tell me about it.
I used to be lag free up till 2 weeks ago, now I'm having trouble seeing people move and I spontaneously will freeze for no reason.

TeRRi2k 02-18-2003 04:23 AM

Ever tried selling your monster stuff and all of a sudden it lags? :[

Selzar 02-18-2003 05:34 AM

yeah its sorta unbearable
edit:TOO UNBEARABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!
A ****ING SPELL KILLED ME AND IT WAS REAL FAR AWAY!
HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE!???!!?!?????????????????????????!!!!!!
a PERFECT day ruined at the END of the day.

TeRRi2k 02-18-2003 02:46 PM

it was probably casted before the lag and then it just hit you after it stopped lagging, but you didn't see it since it was lagging, maybe *shrugs*

Here is a typial lag situation, but a positive and funny one:
I weaken a Rex, and cast critical wounds, the spell moves like a millimeter every 5 seconds, but the T-Rex doesn't move at all, finally, after a minute, the spell hits and kills the Rex. Shortly afterward, the lag is gone, and the spell moves at normal speed.

The lag is one of the many reasons I quit 2k2 ;O It just makes me mad when I get like 20k exp, then lose it all because lag magically makes a T-Rex hit me about 4340 times.

This is the kind of thing that RUINS 2k2. You'll do DAYS and DAYS of endless work, trying you best..BAM
LAG.
OMGLOLZURDEADZOR
Back to less XP then 3 days ago.

THAT'S WHAT PEACEFUL MODE IS FOR. :)

If you truly value your experience, stay out of battle mode. I learned that the hard way.

Kinatt 02-20-2003 01:28 AM

I think the problem is serverside lag not your connection speed lag. If a t rex hits you 235235 times its not the server's fault its your isp. serverside lag is when all npcs stop but you can still move around.. like the instance with the spell moving a millimeter a second..

(I think)

I'm pretty sure you're right.

Yeah, you're right. That's how I died. But anyways, I was in peaceful, just, I didn't leave the dungeon for a long time

TeRRi2k 02-20-2003 02:48 PM

I think its mostly serverlag, but that doesn't mean you can blame it on it all the time, since your connection lag contributes to something hm
