Birdbird_0 02-09-2003 09:01 AM

it's funny, because the ip's can be traced and reported to their ISPs.

Mustang1988 02-09-2003 09:12 AM

Heh. I remember someone saying that they were "going to destroy graal in 30 minutes," but then they left. :(

Anyway,
BirdBird, it should be "coming" in your sig, not "comming." :O
Looks cool, though. XD

"IMA H4X j00 UP f00l"

The only succesful hacks I can remember were EL and San.

Mustang1988 02-09-2003 10:19 AM

I was going to say Coasta De Agua, but it was actually someone who gave out the FTP information. :\

JrTerrorist 02-09-2003 10:20 AM

Bob and Sam = New PW?

Mustang1988 02-09-2003 10:26 AM

:X

Nope, I answered that in the playerworlds forum. ;)

I really don't understand where the motivation behind "attacking" Graal Online comes from. It’s such a small game you wouldn’t even gain bragging rights for “hacking” it. :/

osrs 02-09-2003 02:23 PM

Those guys from 'Team Pie',They were always trying to destroy Graal, hacking everything, making traineers.
They are a lof of stupids children. :asleep:

brock128 02-09-2003 03:29 PM

OMG IT'S TEH APPOCYLYPSE D:

Zurkiba 02-09-2003 04:19 PM

Two things:
1) You spelt God wrong...
2) Axel was all like "DUSTARI DIES IN 7 DAYS!" and he did the countdown in his name. A week later he stood at the gates :D

And I doubt you could kill Graal unless you had the most uber1337 hazoring skillz. Because you'd have to get in undetected, kill it undetected, and get out undetected. But that's really impossible and the next thing you know, there are FBI Agents at your door.

Npulse too, they got hacked so bad, the guy delete all levels, and added 1 with staff items in it. Unixmad has to reset accounts back 2 weeks.

I thought the anti-Graal thing went out with bell bottoms and leisure suits. :\ Oh well, it's fun to watch these angsty people make fools of themselves.

did i pay you for that?

Mustang1988 02-10-2003 01:31 AM

Oh, I remember what happened on Coasta De Agua now.

Asnipe told Ultima that he needed FTP to upload his new levels or something, so Ultima (the GM) gave him the info. Asnipe then gave out the FTP information to all his friends and "hacker" buddies, and they proceeded to adding weapons and stuff everywhere. :\

BeZeRkEr 02-10-2003 07:44 AM

HoverRace.. an old old abandonware game has about 10 players..
And for the past I don't know how long there have been people trying to destroy the game.. Graal has a good 1,000 players.. If you think these people have no lives.. look at the people on HoverRacer.. Gahaha.

san

The worst mistake made on san
(by myself and other admins and owners, over time)
was to give too many rights out to too many staff.

One complaint is that IP blocking does not work for dial up users, tho. I conencted five times and got all different IP addresses,
even the first three numbers changeged, which means you cannot possibly lock in any ip range on a dialup.
ie. you could not allow 204.*.*.* cause the 204 would change.

Suggestion (if it hasnt been done already)
Allow upload and overwrite if the file is the same name,
but disallow deleting files for LAT/NAT accounts.
Track which account and IP modified each file for each change
in a log.
Have backups for each playerworld that are made every
night (ws_ftp pro form www.ipswitch.com has a Synchronise feature thats quite nice) - which you should be able to afford to do now that graal is all p2p.
So if hax0rs delete, then you can lock down all but the owner account, force a password change and email it to the owner,
and then upload the last saved files up at graal headquarters.

I knew some people that were a part of the actual SG111 team. SG111 and some of the more sensible people that took part in the anti-graalcorruption community went on to have their own website where they write reviews and stuff of different types of games ranging from console games to PC games that can be played on/off the net.

I think this is probably a hoax by some people that want people here to worry. Whatever the case is I think Unixmad will deal with them eventually if anything happens.

konidias 02-11-2003 05:28 AM

You know, it's funny, even if there is a massive attack on Graal's servers, the worst that would happen is that they'd be down a couple hours or at most, half a day or something. That's not "killing Graal".

All they are doing is "Denial of Service" (DOS) attacks against the servers by sending tons of data and crashing the server that way. They aren't "hacking" and they certaintly aren't going to ruin Graal because of it. Now the thing is, DOS attacks take a lot of people and a lot of resources to make it happen, and getting a bunch of anti-Graal people to continue to do something like that, just makes me laugh out loud. There's no way any of them are dedicated enough to continuously attack the server for days or weeks.

Even if they somehow managed to continue attacking it, constant attacks on the server would be easy to catch, and it would be like driving by the same house every night and egging it, eventually there's going to be police waiting for you.

Spark910 02-11-2003 11:23 AM

haha, What has Rudora actually done? Nothing to him, hes a jackass.
