Serious trojan issue.

It was in Spark's thread, but Spark's thread is gone now.

So I'll let everyone know (Seeing as how I've received roughly 1500 of these emails already) that any email they get from [email protected] about a Graal Security Update Patch is

FAKE.

Ignore and delete the email, it's from a fake e-mail address, and some of them have "downloadable" security updates, which are trojans, according to Spark.

Spark910 01-29-2003 11:43 AM

Yeah they are, I checked it with 10 different checkers. Also I think I may be able to find the source E-mail address today!

Out of intrest, where did my post move to?

Yeay, more E-mail! I cant check it at school due to proxy timeouts which are inforced against my Webmail, anyway ill let you know about it if its serious, whoever they are they really love me, they dont send 4869 of the same message for no reason <3.

syltburk 01-29-2003 01:06 PM

My freind had a trojan once were you could for exampel make it so it looks that its from someone else
and to any email, and could write what ever they wanted.

And its impossible to track them becuse they have about 5000 diffrent ips.

zell12 01-29-2003 01:59 PM

Sticky this :(
Oh and Unixmad seen the thread in the private forum, or was told on icq about it and I guess he decided its finally time to stop this.

Googi 01-29-2003 02:54 PM

I still have yet to get one.

I'm probably not worth Viper's time :)

syltburk 01-29-2003 04:17 PM

That guy have emailed me and when i opened the email my screen got white, i think its maibe some spy thing so he can see what i can do on my server, one of my dad freind are coming over and is going to try to fix it, Norton antivirus system cant fix it, (Ive got the newest Version).
it standed Congratulions, the wierd thing was that it only happend once , second time i checked it , the white screen didnt come up.... 0.o it just standed something like this "P742X38X28"

I dont now why but are this what i get after paying graal alot times?

I don't even have a Virus Protection program. If I get a bad virus I just reformat, nothing on my computer is worth keeping :)

magicbud3344 01-29-2003 10:17 PM

ohmy
i didn't think this was somthing seriouse i thought it was just some fat nerdy guy with no life trying to cause graal problems. wow :O

Neoreno 01-29-2003 10:25 PM

Geno summed it up quite well I thought.

The thing is he's been causing Graal problems quite some time. People think it's about time he got punished for his stupidity and time wasting.

I never knew there were mobo-frying virii....I guess they overheat your computer or something? or perhaps overwrite the bios with random bits?

TifaKhan 01-30-2003 02:17 AM

Before i got Norton i got a virus that wiped out my hard drive, nasty stuff.
But even so, Norton isnt 100%, my sis who uses the same comp, but not my rc or graal account, opened her msn and an email about *be my friend*
Next thing we knew Norton was disabled and everything started shutting down.
I was able to log on the net and use msn and that was it.
So with the help of a friend we tracked down the virus, started
Norton in safe mode, quarantined the virus, and we were back in business.
Could have been a heck of a lot worse.
Now we dont accept anything, and all emails are deleted if we dont know them.
I also refuse to use Outlook Express now to protect myself.

Do your kids got graal?=

Spark910 01-30-2003 10:01 PM

Yes I think she did say they had used it before.

zell12 01-30-2003 10:04 PM

Oh well, I hate buying things. Norton is one of them. I just don't go downloading trainers like half the idiots that play graal do. And I don't use hotmail, so the only email I use is my isp one and I don't get spam there. :)

Megamaniac 01-30-2003 10:45 PM

yeah i had norton and BASSNA that &)%#&%&@$ IMed me and told me all my account names and passwords for graal just like that and gave me a trojan :( he was opening windows and making me type stuff and opening my cd-tray lol XD but i went in safe mode and fixed it n stuff soo please rant about what an @$$ bassna is XD

Butz 01-30-2003 11:14 PM

For those of you who won't pay for Norton...

I recommend this.
It's a free Anti-Virus program. I use it, my Dad uses it, heck, staff on campus use it.
AVG Virus Protection

A virus can, however, flash your BIOS, leaving you with a blank and worthless motherboard. :]

melissa1988 02-06-2003 12:34 AM

I've also heard of viruses that cause overheating in computers, but I've never actually seen one so I think it's speculation...One fun way to wreck havok on a computer is to take apart a floppy disk, and spinkle gunpowder or crushed match heads on the surface of the magnetic disk...haha I tested this one day and seriously screwed up a junky 286 machine...hahahaha

davidpsy 02-06-2003 02:26 AM

I dont know who this ***** hacker is. But if he trys and messes with me ill make sure he pays.... The only hacker I have a problem with is Ubermass or Ritcher donnie he was a ebil Sanstrata hacker or staff member with level 4 rc.

*shakes finger*
CheeToS's way of breaking floppy drives.
1. Get floppy disk.
2. Get nail polisher remover.
3. Apply nail polish remover to disk.
4. Open floppy drive.
5. Put disk in floppy drive.
6. Watch smoke.
:D

JrTerrorist 02-06-2003 03:36 AM

CheeToS is so smart :p

melissa1988 02-06-2003 05:17 AM

the gunpowder is much more destructive

melissa1988 02-06-2003 06:32 AM

LOL very true, but I think it can be agreed that gunpowder is more destructive than nail polish. Hell, put both on there! It'd help the gunpowder stick to the media. haha

JrTerrorist 02-06-2003 07:30 AM

I made gunpowder last year O.o;; Then had some fun with it >=D
