To jeff

It seems, no matter how many things you add, and how many things you update people still aren't playing. Now, I know you didn't do the reset before but I feel it would be a good idea now.

Also:

Reset People

Get train working

Add islands only accesable via Train (More fun and use of train) make it so Drasine cant get there.

I think, that big PWs/Server are good for a while then ware off, as they are too big, updates aren't noticed as much. I know its supposed to be big, thats why there is a train, but I think it would be better being smaller. So possibly remove all of thos trees.

More Jobs (Look at real ones in the world and get them in)

Games - 2001 Scoreboard and like you can do:

Submit scroes to full scorebaord and top 3 win, and you cna do weekly contests and set a scroe for a different game.

Googi 01-19-2003 04:40 PM

Despite the need of more jobs (especially ones where you don't endlessly mash D), necklace making still has yet to be uploaded :\

brock128 01-19-2003 04:57 PM

Where have all the people gone.

Zurkiba 01-19-2003 06:27 PM

2k1 will need more things to attract players...

2k1 is ok with a simple 'go to a rock and press D untill your finger falls off' but I think there needs to be a little more.

I dont think a reset would fix it. That would drive away the current players. We have Era as an example.

Maybe if 2k1 could be put on the Classic list, because it isn't doing so well on Gold.

Loriel 01-19-2003 07:22 PM

I still believe it should be completely rebuilt, only keeping the basic landscape and setting (bomies etc)

Necklace Making has a DDR style of button mashing ^_^

A great deal of people left 2K1 because of the ruined economy, a reset would bring them back temporarily.

That's been suggested 2394845 times before, and it's not going to happen.

Zurkiba 01-19-2003 08:04 PM

Why dont you redo the RP system for 2k1 and maybe the Kingdoms will go back o.o

Like make the RP system 10x better.
----
Like have more player envolvement.

Googi 01-19-2003 08:09 PM

Because we don't have the resources to measure up to 2K2 as far as RPing goes, which is why the economic aspect should be the most important one to focus on.

But I have no idea what Tseng is doing :(

--Chris-- 01-19-2003 08:13 PM

I actually had the best time RPing on 2k1.....

Dude6252000 01-19-2003 08:34 PM

Yeah, RPing on 2001 was always better..But, with unix and Stefan saying that we can only have small RPing, not even kingdoms, then it's so boring.

Googi 01-19-2003 08:41 PM

Yes, on 2K1 RPing was even, because there was no levels/exp/stats, so it wouldn't be, like, whoever has the most powerful player would always win (Although because of Bomys/Humans, there was some inequality, but nowhere near as much as on 2K2).

I still think that the 2 Kingdoms idea is the best.

Tseng 01-19-2003 09:23 PM

Stefan's definition of basic RPing was like the kingdoms we used to have, but what we can't have are stats (like strength, etc).

So in theory, we could bring back the old style kingdoms.

Jeff, however, is against bringing back kingdoms in this manner; he is for his local guild system, and having kingdoms through his local guilds.

What about reset :\

Jeff 01-19-2003 09:42 PM

I think it's safe to say we'll probably have a reset.

The level system for GK is stupid...
It doesn't show skill... it shows how much your addicted to Graal.

Make 2k1 a real player involvement server.
---
I had an idea years ago... that 2k1 becomes a Primitive Themed server... and the kingdoms can research differnt technologies.

They get NPC workers... and a couple of cities. But it's like this

You spend 1k gralats to research stone tools and you can assign an NPC to mine in the gold mines. Lets say he gets two gold per week in mining. But with stone weapons he'll get four gold per week.

The technology includes weapons, tools, and era advances. You can advance in technology with resources like
Scientist, Food, Gold, Iron, Diamonds, Lumber, Pearls, and Gralats.

Differnt weapons cost resources too. The missles can range from clubs to cannons.

Also make it so that the differnt towns need atleast three days of war before it can be captured. Have birdges which connect some of the cities and the enemy can destroy those bridges.

Have the RP Admin and the RP Development... and those people can juice up the RP stuff in the server (like when the dragon peoples destroyed the Zormite Waterfall)

Tseng 01-19-2003 11:43 PM

Interesting...

Googi 01-19-2003 11:46 PM

That sounds like too much NPC involvement, and not enough player involvement.

Jeff 01-19-2003 11:49 PM

Sorry Zurk, sounds too Age of Empires.

We'll have local guilds, eventually being able to rent guild houses. Those can be used for roleplaying and for other types of guilds as well.

(The idea behind a reset would be to fix the economy)

Acererak 01-20-2003 05:00 AM

I also think when the reset comes, we should remove useless parts of the world, and close of certain parts until we feel it's time to open them, if everyone starts out in a small world where everything makes sense and not much is unknown, then people feel comfortable. When people feel comfortable we open new places to explore, which makes people feel as if they are there from the begining, now when they become familier with the new surroundings, we add more. Instead of just opening up the same world as we have now, we change things around, so there are new things to discover, and places to go.

Just a thought...

I played 2k1 every day for months on end, making bread, pies, cones, mining, i finally get a bomy have some decent money and you want to reset it?
Be the last time i upgrade an account to play gold servers if that happens.
Not that im anybody important in the Graal community but thats my 2cents.

brock128 01-20-2003 04:11 PM

People: You know that a reset is probabally coming. Anything you do on 2k1 is your own fault.

Saving up to buy a bomy off BirdBird was my own fault?
Pfft your logic is disturbing.
My accounts due for upgrading in 70days.
If i lose everything on 2k1 i wont bother.
Stefan and Unix are the losers in the long run.

Yes it couldnt be that people left to play 2k1 could it?

The economy is not what has destroyed the player count. It is the limited number of gold accounts and the lack of new things on 2k1. 2k1 lacks substance to keep people entertained. Where as 2k2 is constantly being updated under the supervision of Stefan. Mean while 2k1 is passed from manager to manager in hopes some one will fix it. Personally I dont see 2k1 ever regaining a stable population. Especially not when theoretically the player count rests on the economy. Why does it rest on the economy? Because thats just about all 2k1 has at this point. There are what 2 quests? One barely even being a quest that last I checked with new bodies the players couldnt hurt. 2k1 needs to stop trying to rely on th economy and worrying about resets and it needs to focus on getting new updates non economy based to give players something to do. RP isnt a good idea because if some one wants to RP they can go to 2k2. They need to find something to focus on that is non RP related. The idea of a guild type system would be good because it would appeal to the people who dont like to role play.

But I can say if you reset the economy. Not a single thing will change. Except you will have a few less players. Which with the current count would probably be all of them. There is especially no point in doing a reset unless the time is taken to balance it before hand. Otherwise it will just keep going around in a circle where all this money builds up and people will say reset reset. Instead of reset how about fixing it? Then finding some way to eat money. Although one could argue who cares if something is super expensive thats just inflation. Doesnt mean the economy is broke. You cant really have an economy if you keep releasing the same thing from npc's over and over they become more and more common prices drop. Ok I've rambled enough now. But for the second part if you wanted a decent economy you would want to establish rarity. Such as bomy's make only a limited number of items etc.. Also establish things to sell. You have bomy's, hat's, music items. As far as I'm aware anything else is just assorted minor junk. You cant have a stable economy with just three items people are really wanting. :p That would go more towards fixing it. Ok I've really rambled enough now and no one is going to read all of this so I'll stop and maybe add more later.

Jeff 01-20-2003 05:26 PM

The theory is that, along with the guild system and new events, a fresh economy with better administrative control (i.e. no overzealous restocks) couldn't hurt.

I agree with the last sentence.

Anyway, if your head wasn't under a rock, you'd know that there would eventually be a reset.

HOW TO FIX 2k1 IN # EASY STEPS

1. More bomy stuff
2. RESET
3. More jobs (Pearl Making = DDR steps? Sweet.)
4. Quests
5. More stuff available to those who are poor (Like bomys)

Here's my logic.

Tifa, do you constantly play 2k1 any more?

I don't see you on that much.

In that case, can a reset lower our player count?

The answer looks more and more to "It can't hurt" as time goes on.

:\, I have a Bomy, a PH, and 5K, and one of almost every pink hat on 2K1. But I still want a reset, because all of that stuff is worthless without players.

MrCharles 01-21-2003 01:42 AM

The only reason I wouldnt want a reset is.. if I lost my stats. Kills mainly.

I liked RPing on 2k1 when It was hard to get into a kingdom and stuff and getting into guilds was hard...

HoudiniMan 01-21-2003 03:15 AM

i think property should be kept, like houses and pets but reset money and hats and all that other good junk.
cause if you reset houses then everybody will get a house real quick and then keep them forever :\

That's what's going to happen if people keep houses and pets through the resets too.

As far as I know, a reset is pending only the final pre-reset work

Python523 01-21-2003 04:03 AM

It's not "all of the sudden."

It is the result of a long deliberation and the realization that there is quite frankly nothing to lose.

TifaKhan 01-21-2003 07:36 AM

Well im not the only one that disagrees.
And while i may not play much anymore, i dont like the idea of a reset.
Most people i talk to all agree its because of 2k2 that its not popular anymore.
But anyway, go ahead and do what you have too.
I'll take a few screenies to remember what i had and say goodbye.
