Warhammer .. complete?
1 Attachment(s)
Well, sort of "threw" this together over the past hour or two .. maybe longer? Hahah, I don't know. Didn't keep track. Anyway .. I know some people were wanting to see a warhammer (like myself) .. so I made one. Opinions .. questions .. suggestions .. comments .. all welcome. If it's good enough, I hope it gets added. It'd be cool seeing people running around smashing baddies with a weapon I made .. a warhammer at that! :)

You should make it a little more 3dish :O
NPC Code: Also, it needs some different sprites for swinging horicontally and vertically :) |

.. but what do you mean about the sprites? I may not be getting it because I just woke up, but I may as well be sure .. :o |
Your current sprites look as if you could only swing that hammer in one level - only horicontally. I think it needs some sprites for vertical attacks.

The hammer looks great, but to (perhaps) clarify what Loriel is saying: you have the sprites drawn so that when playerdir == 0 or 2, the player will be swinging the hammer side to side like a sword. But the hammer is massive! (the reason it looks great) Anything that heavy, swung that way, is gonna spin the player around in a circle while his hammer and forearms go flying off in some random direction. :D
I'm picturing a vertical swing. For playerdir == 1 and 3, your sprites look great for that (although a bit more 3d would be cool). For north and south, you might want to edit them a wee bit. However, gfx rating = 10/10 |
you should use the axe sprite as template
|
War Hammers dont look like hammers =x
They are like the average tool hammer You know the ball end, then on it's opposite there is a spike. And on the top of that... there is another spike. http://www.armor.com/2000/catalog/item005.html |

[edit]I get what you're saying .. but the only problem is this: for north and south, doesn't the gani use the same sprite for both the swing and the slam? That would prove to be a problem, if so. :\[/edit] |

But what you're drawing is a block of wood on a stick XD |
looks like a Dwarven Warmallet... not a warhammer... warhammers are like normal hammers... except the head is a bit larger and umm... yea you need to plan before you make the sprites.... dont just draw them and expect them to get in..... certain views of the weapon has to be made....
|
Will the weapon comes up?

[edit].. it is a two-handed weapon. Look at someone using a battle axe or war axe or any such thing. They use two hands to attack. :o[/edit] |

I did plan. I always use paper first ... Look, I used the battle axe as a template .. I didn't just throw this together. -_-; |

And the Dwarven Warmallets were made of wood o.o |

Other then that it strikes no real resemblance, the mario bros hammer was just a cylinder sitting on a plank of wood. If the head on your hammer was black Locke yours would look more like it then mine. |

Just make sure it weighs no more then 20 kg >.< |
Head is very good but handle is too dark it competes with the head.
My constructive critisizm but who the hell am I to say that I can't even spell critisizm right.. |
