setup is messed
 

I tryed installing Graal on my computer, and ive done it before on Windows XP, and this is the first time this has happend. I hit install, and it tells me it needs to close out the setup.exe casue of some error, and this is the error report, or problem.

the new site, the setup prog can't connect to it yet.

Hope I don't get in trouble for this... Anyway, extract this to your C:\graal2001 folder, over right the files. Then delete your setup folder and try to download the new package, if it doesn't work, try downloading from graalonline.com or graal2001.com or something other then the site listed :O

Fix the new exe please, I use Windows XP, and it keeps giving me errors, in the middle of downloading the friggin exe, it downloaded about half of it, and stoped, and now i try to connect to servers, and it tells me for every single one, that i get illegal data to my connection.

Same issues for me i tried on Windows XP my regular desktop dell pc and on my win2k server =/ Ill have to stick with the old graal client until stefan can fix the Windows XP/ Windows 2000 Graal issue

I am wondering if a new RC client will be released soon also? that would be so cool!

Stefan told me that tomorrow (well soon now I guess since they do live 6 hours ahead of eastern time making it 8:07 AM where they live) unixmad will check on the setup.exe and he will fix it :) I am having problems too, really annoying :(

thats the only information i am getting related to the problem it occurs immediatly after starting download... frankly i have had issues in the past with graal running on windows XP and 2000... and there is no chance of me going back to 98 =P

Although when my brand new pc gets in tommorow ill pretty much be using windows xp but i know alot of graal users run WinXP & 2000.


Heh not that my current pc's and servers are to old only a few months each :P and my i do windows updates and patches weekly so i know it's not my system =)

Here is a shot of another error either way i cant even download the new client so beyond the setup.exe there could be further problems for Windows XP (NT Systems) in the client it's self sense most likely not NT based systems are able to get the new client.

Myne is acting even wierder than that. It just crashes with no error or anything. No illegal operation or anything. I found that wierd.

And yea I am using the famout WinXP.

Save the setup.exe to your harddisk.
Then run the setup.
Running it from the temp. directory of internet browser will not work!

Umm I know that has nothing todo with it since i didnt use IE to download the setup.exe and the file was on my harddisk not in a temp directory its a error thats has todo with WIN XP has happened before and i guess unixmad and stefan are fixing it right now

My problem is nothing is wanting to load, a few houses and my legs, and arms of my body are loading also.

Well the setup.exe just gives me errors so i cant even download the new graal client.

I hope unixmad or stefan respond to this thread soon or make a announcement or something about the issues... i hope there aware of the problems

Gah, a mod has to merge this with the other foolish threads. Why bother posting about it when Unixmad and Stefan bothing know there is a problem.

Now my Graal doesn't work.

zell nobody is sure if they know ... its just rumor until they say something and it should be such a small issue i mean they already have a working setup.exe for the old client they can just do some debugging it's just a problem with Win2k, WINXP so far

Yeah I just reformatted and I can't get graal. :(

I dont know if stefan and unixmad are aware of this setup issue it hasnt been fixed i have been downloading the setup.exe every few hours to see if they fixed it no luck so far.

I ran the old setup and it worked fine....*shrugs*

hmm, I get the same error too. I notice it sometimes say we can send the report to microsoft. Do you think they could fix it if we send enough reports? Who would fix it faster (Stefan/Unixmad or Microsoft)?

I doubt if microsoft would really help us on that, so we have to wait for Super Stefan and Ultra Unixmad to fix it.
