Attack Speed vs. Gani Lenght

These are the attack speeds of sword weapons, and zormite blade, that means the time the player gets frozen when using them.
NPC Code:

Sword ZBlade
Stab: 0.5 0.45
Swing 0.35 0.65
Combo: 1.05 1.25

Those are the lengths of the ganis for each attack
NPC Code:

Sword ZBlade
Stab: 1.0 0.45
Swing 0.75 0.75
Combo: 0.95 1.35

Because as a player, you mainly notice the ganis and not the actual freezing time, you will mostly not notice that swords are in fact faster than the zormite blade. This really confuses, as it seems that the average sword is not only weaker but also slower than the zormite blade.
I discovered that for example, if you keep hitting the sword key, you will do a second swing while the first gani is still playing. So basically both a sword with damage 7 and a zormite blade do the same damage per second if you attack repeatly (stab with the zblade and swing the sword).

I believe the sword ganis should be shortened to match the freeze time, to not confuse players. (LIKE ME)

S, forward, S, forward, S forward.

Try it, with practice you can get about two hits per second with any sword.

Or, hold down D .. then S, S, S. Same thing.

Isn't proper. Weapon speed isn't implemented at all, and it completely takes away from the realism.

Well, I figured.
You know, those weapon speed numbers are not from the menu but the "freezeplayer #;" in the script.

gani and freeze don't seem to measure the second the same anyways:rolleyes:

TerrorBite 12-27-2002 10:25 AM

hmm and if you want an even faster swing, equip a shield.. hold down d and s and swing the sword like a vicious axe using the arrow keys: up down up down or left right left right... depending on which direction you are facing ^.^

or change the gani's yourself like I did I have them all set exactly to the freeze time

Here's also something I noticed...the Naginata attack range is shorter than it should be. HALF of the freakin weapon doesn't do damage, you have to hit the person near the handle of it. Test it yourself, the blade and a good way down the stick does nothing.

And the katana is slower than the axe.

Juron Pilo 01-22-2003 04:14 AM

measure it manually... 1 second to freezeplayer != 1 second to gani animation
