Scary, scary helmet.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm a little sick of people always wearing the Silver Warrior helmet. And why not? There's no reason to ever take it off. It weighs the same if it's on or if it's off, the only difference is you get more armor when it's on...
In my humble opinion, all helmets should have a default -1 CHA unless they're rare and pretty. If a cute girl's trying to buy something, don't you think she'd get a better price with the grotesque horned mask off? |
...
dude thats stupid...

*shrugs*
You find it more RP appropriate that people wear the same equipment in the deepest dungeons than in the markets? Godforbid you should be asked to take off your hat in addition to putting on your charisma ring... |
I agree
I hate it that the ugly helms are the strongest, and yet when I want something that looks better because it fits my style I have to suffer |
Things that are not shiney, like the bronze helmet, or silver, should have a -1cha :P

I agree.... I like the idea of different variations of Cha/AC/Armor bonus/penalty head items... maybe some people would want a Crested Helmet(ac+2)(eep smithing skill to make it?) as opposed to the Horns... or a Gem Inlaid Tiara(cha+2)(eep 770 plats!?) in place of a Paladin Helm....
I have some odd feeling.... like I went off topic x.x |
Making the player fiddle with his equipment every time he goes to a shop is a little demanding. Perhaps there could be implemented two mods: Battle mode and normal mode. In battle mode the character walks around with weapon in hand and helmet on. In normal mode he stows his weapon and helmet to appear more human. Can't fight in normal mode, obviously. One additional benefit would be that it would be a good way to signal peaceful intent - it shows a person that you're not intending to fight.
Of course, some people would want their helmets at all times because they like looking evil etc, so maybe the player could define whole item sets for the two modes - one with battle rings and full armor and a huge sword and one with charm rings and a friendly smile :) |

Just allow multi binding. You can bind W to your axe, helmet, and ring of combat; you can bind N to your ring of charisma and Helmet of Prettiness. W-N to take off all your war gear and put on your charisma ring and pretty helmet, N-W to do the reverse.

Something like an "outfit saver".
Mabey making different characters on the same account. Like on drasnik or whatever its called. |

well, the armor only has a negative effect as it is... or atleast for people who use magic quite a bit...
but yes, butt- ugly armor needs a charisma penalty! and it is not demanding to ask someone to press a row of keys to take off or put on equipment... there isn't even need for the amount of work potentualy neccisary for multi binding, when other new features could be made! infact, it should take some time to put on or take off, what should be, heavey armor! anyhow, I find it ironic that people are willing to pray for hours, and not do anything, to get massivley, unreasonably good equipment when they whine over how hard it is to equip and un equip stuff... hellooo.... many spells lack an adequate animation!!! |
