Is it possible to know whether you will fail/succeed in learning a spell before tryin

Now...after a lot of battle-potato killing, I have enough money to get create bomb, clearly though, this is only half of it, I still have to FIND the spell, and even if I find it, I might fail to learn it.

So...is it possible, based on knowing what your intelligence stat is, and the level of the spell, whether you will succeed or fail in learning that spell?

Buy a luck ring or pray to balor for luck

If they would tell us the percent that it would rise per intelligence level, you could figure out what is the chances of you learning by calculating.

I believe it also depends on mental level

you are right, it mostly depends on your mental, at least more than it depends on you int.
The higher you are mentally, the better chance you have of learning it, I know this because I remember wasting 1500 plat on a large snowstorm spell that i failed to learn, i leveled up mentally (to lvl 7 or better) and I learned it, keeping the same int.

I have high int though to begin with

Or maybe you're doing really advanced spells or somthing.

Question: Can you learn skills without literacy?

TerrorBite 11-17-2002 01:15 PM

intelligence aides in learning, and so does mental exp... I try to have the same level of mental exp as the spell for safety... but stupid preist spells they rely on WISDOM stat points X_x... evil

and no you cannot learn spells without literacy, since it uses that skill to increase your mental when you succeed

oh and my intel is 19 as well... some people do just have bad luck though ... I failed my first spell I tried to learn ;p
