I am resigning as Manager of Npulse
 

I am quitting my Manager's position on Npulse.
The decision comes after much sruggling with myself, my feelings, and the players.
It seemed that after we struggled to get the rules set, and staff set,
that everything was looking up, and that it had all been for something.
The last few days though have been very tough, players seemed to be pushing
me in masses with sexual content, and so I felt like I needed to put a stop to it
which just made things worse. Also these people dont
know about the account sharing thing because it isnt posted
anywhere for them to read,
and I am continually attacked on that because they accuse me of making up rules,
and I will not ban people for it when it isnt anywhere for them to know.
They continually threaten to go to UN and play because I follow the rules that were set.
Anyway, ever since we have taken over Npulse, the players have been trying
to push me out because I am an adult, and a woman, and I dont split hairs with the rules
...I fought and fought,
but I am tired of fighting it now. I am tired of people saying that we ruined Npulse, I
am tired of people saying that I am too old to be running Npulse, I am tired of going
on other servers, and people telling me I am not welcome because of who I am, I am tired
of people telling me that they leave to other servers where they dont have to follow
such rules.
It has also become too hard to find staff, and keep staff. Really good scripters
and LAT's are very hard to come by, and when I do get someone, they end up leaving
graal for their own reasons, or they never get hired because they scream for more rights
on RC then they need.

I have enjoyed the experiance of running Npulse for the most part, and I am glad I got
the oppertunity to do so....I did my best, and I am leaving knowing that, and that is good
enough for me.

I truly hope that someone is found to take over Npulse that people like, I doubt it
though...unless they are corrupt, and let these kids and young adults get by with
not following the rules, they wont be happy.

I am not speaking for Moon god, this has nothing to do with him, he
makes his own decisions. I dont know if he is leaving or not.

I am not quitting graal, because I love playing the game.

bai, i am sad to see u go, u brought professionalism to Npulse, as did/does moon god, GL with whatever u decide to do next...

Sometimes its just best to leave. You shouldn't have to do what you were doing to get people to listen to you and the rules.

In the long run, Moon Goddess, it was probably worth it to make the decision you did. Not to sound stereotypical or anything here.. but a majority of the people who play in Graal are never satisfied with anything. As if most of the people who complain in the first place could even do as decent a job. It is, however, a shame that you did give up a peice of Graal you did enjoy, but like I said it's for the better. It really isn't fair for other people to be so judgemental based on age. I mean..hell, I'll be 20 in march, does this mean I can't play Graal either?

Anyway before I continue to rant on and on, I wish you the best of luck in your new decision.

Man this sucks.. N-Pulse is the best managed server up right now. You and moon god do an awsome job at being managers. Just because some people are stupid and say they are going to leave to play another server is lame. Those people don't need to be playing graal and they are making other people upset. And fighting and arguing for more rights is always stupid..

Well I hope you don't quit graal all together. But if you do..C ya later.

Sorry to hear you're leaving, though. :( I know I disagreed with you on a lot of things in the Sandbox and whatnot, but you're still a good manager of a fairly decent server. :)

You're right, Graal is filled with "punks" that stop at no end to manifest trouble, and it always makes the good ones go. I can see right now on N-Pulse, Geovanie Legend, probably conspiring with staff members and players about a possible takeover of the server.

The point is, I dont enjoy it anymore

My decision will be posted in the coming next few weeks, Moonie and I are a team in real life as well as on Graal. Without Moonie it will never be the same and is something I will have to consider and do what is best for Npulse and Graal. If I do decide to quit Npulse , I will not hand over Npulse to someone incompetent of running Npulse and/or will run it into the ground , Graal does not need another server with 2 players on it up online and before I would let that happen I would rather have it shutdown and remembered for what it was and what we tried to accomplish there
than a crash and burn server that no one plays and remembered for that instead

Well staff members except for unixmad. He would ban players for a month for much less than staff of playerworlds take on a daily basis. I know he banned me for asking too many questions.


And i've seen staff members on playerworlds stripped of thier position for local banning staff that harrass them.


This has to stop if this game is gonna go anywhere.

That's a really sad news, Moon Goddess and Moon God are doing a fantastic work with Npulse.

I think we will have to make a harder life to players that do personal attacks or sexually comments, the Graal rules are very clear on that:

"Another abuse of chat and forum privileges is when players use abusive language (cursing or threatening language), racial attacks or comments, or sexually explicit comments, either general or specific, when communicating to individual players, in the content of mass messages via the GraalOnline chat system, or via the discussion boards"

I ask all managers to enforce this rule with 0 tolerance !

You will always be welcome by me on Doomsday.
And the fact you have quit as Manager because of the behaviour of kids today is sad indeed.
I get everything you do and more, and because of my stand on abuse,sexual harrassment and corruption its ten fold.
Yes , lats,nats, for that matter, good staff are getting harder and harder to find.
I fear in the end it will be run by a bunch of power hungry kids with nothing better to do but cause havoc.
I wish i could have stopped you somehow, because in a way you are the last hope, the last icon of everything that is good in Graal.
Anyone that stands for what is right like you have, its a shame to lose.

I plan too.
In the past i have been rather tolerant of these people, giving them chances, but now, like i did yesterday, one warning against sexual harrassment and their gone.
I wont allow some 14 year old permissive person to sexually harrass me anymore.
It wont make me any friends, but i dont need friends like that.

hmm, MGess quiting as co-manager? good thing or bad thing? Hmm, what should I say? I guess she has done some good things, but everyone has to remember she is just one person of the million that can do the same thing. Only difference is her unique touch on things. I personally think that all servers are doing bad because I see that graal should be as good as a console game. You all know that is not going to happen with everyone dwelling around on the past, people abusing powers, people showing favortism, people stopping to enjoy one thing rather than moving on with the next project, and other things. I often wonder if game developers do the same thing and cause games to come out later than the expected date. I can't believe that MG got mad because of the Monkey thing. Maybe it is some inside thing that Kai and MG have or something.

Oh well, at least you will still be a player.

About closing Npulse, I guess it should be done. All the players of Npulse really need is 3 levels: one to PM each other, another to spar each other and a final one to PK each other. Most likely they will find that in another server that they will eventually bring down even more from it's rotted state.

Well only time will tell. To be honest it gets harder every day.
Ive heard it said not to hire friends, well i dont, but most of them become my friends and we work together really well.
There will always be those ones though that are ready to
argue, talk about you behind your back, and generally make you wonder if its worth it.
But i fight on, just as you did.

#1 off: Moon God and Moon Goddess are the most effective graal server managers EVER, except perhaps Stefan.

#2 off: "as good as a console game"? That's sure subjective; I find console games to be poor because the console is a rather restrictive medium...resolution cannot exceed that of a television, controller usually has at most 10 buttons, can't be used to read email, can't run graal, no large storage for homemade worlds...

It tears my heart up to give up Npulse, and a moderator making fun of it burns me up...I can understand some of the players doing it, but not someone who is suppose to be a part of graal's staff....and it doesnt matter how much I am told I am wrong, he did it for one reason, and that was to get me or moon god to say something, and turn this into an arguing thread, and he got it :grrr:

:(! I never really did play Npulse, but I do know a few things:

1.) You were a much better owner than Geo. Period.

2.) You and Moon God have spend gigantic portions of your time to run Npulse. If the idiots there threaten to go to UN, let them. Npulse is better without them.

3.) If all else fails, ban. It's not too hard. ;) If they're threatening to leave, then ban them. They're gone. ;D You might want to talk to Stefan or Unixmad (Or Koni) about the sexual harassment part. Global ban. ;D

The people on Npulse will, hopefully, set an example for players to come.

Npulse is my Elven Lands. If I were to just join Graal and get an account and pay for it, I'd most likely play Npulse first. :)

It may be possible to run graal on playstation 2 if they get the harddrive w/ linux operating system. I think Graal is working on a Linux Port or something I forgot. Then again there are those illegal ports for Linux cause it wasn't made by them but I don't know much since I DON'T USE LINUX.. hehehe..
What I meant by my earlier post is that gameplay and crap like that. Of course I know that console games only have about 12 buttons, but keep in mind that graal has 10 buttons so they are not doing any better button wise (unless you wanna force people to use a keyboard when they got used to using their gamepad).

Only difference really is that graal is lacking the flow of things. Not to seem all anti-npulse but look at one quest that they had. You take a pot to a door and it magically opens to a room with a heart piece. Could of at least said it was some explosives that could blow the door down.

Also some consoles do let you check email and they do have large storage for homemade worlds if you want. I think the largest is 250 MB (I forgot), but if you were smart you would just take some old 3 GB from your computer and hook it up to your playstation two since the drives look almost the same there is prolly a way to let it work with it.
