....Silence people's opiniosn by locking a thread.

You have yet to answer for some very valid points raised in that thread. I am sure you want to create a gaming enviornment people enjoy, and as is evident in that thread most people don;t want to loose items AND stats AND exp when you die.

he is basicly the half owner of graal
he can do as he pleases

BlKnight 11-07-2002 06:52 AM

You don't understand. I didn't say he doesn't have the right to close threads. I am saying he can't silence people's objections by doing so.

Nobody can stop someone from disliking something by making discussion abotu it forbidden. That would require a labotomy.

I tried to do a poll and see how many people liked the item loss thing. It disappeared... I know Stefan works hard on these ideas but I wish input from the players was more welcome. That is one of the best things about Graal, the democracy of the game design.

What did I miss, Ghost? Maybe you don't lose all three all at once, but that wasn't our complaint...

But I'd like to point out to BlKnight... unless he's gotten a forum PM or something there's no hint that Stefan is the one who closed the thread. Be careful with accusations, is all I'm saying.

you can choose to lose experience/stats(current) or valuable items + a few % of exp(new(you don't lose as much exp)) when you die

BlKnight 11-07-2002 07:23 AM

Alexh: That's only in peaceful. All other modes you loose items+some exp and stats. No choice.

Rest: Grr you're right sorry...let me take stefans name out of this thread.

Seems like it is, since you said AND to all three instead of OR

I'm not sure about the system. I've never seen a game that takes a similar approach so I can't really judge how much I'll like it. I'll wait until it's implemented to pass my judgement, I guess.

Stefan said you will not lose important items like rings you pay 2000 plats for, or amulets and things that are very valuable. I'd imagine you'd lose something like a shovel, maybe a few minerals and some plats, that's it. It's nothing to really whine about, there simply have to be more consequences for dying, but the irony of the latter is that when people die once or twice they automatically think "omg my character is doomed it sucks I am restarting!"

You'll never expect to get anywhere with that.

There needs to be MORE consequences? So you are saying that even if exp and stat loss would be increased you still wouldn't care when you die without item loss?

Fine I am changing my complaint to 2 thing:
a) Allow the same option (choose to loose stats and exp not items) in Battle Mode as zin Peaceful Mode
b) Don't make item loss in Kingdom Mode

Admins 11-07-2002 08:46 PM

Item loss in kingdom mode depends on the kingdoms anyway

aylad 11-08-2002 01:56 AM

If we don't lose valuable items, I guess I can live with it. I'd rather not lose sacks/bags/pouches, items we start with, and worn items as well... Losing things like a few coins, boards, minerals, food, and the like..... that I could live with. Even hearts and livers and such.

And really, Graal Kingdoms is still gonna be an awesome game. Every game has its ups and downs, let's not forget that this one is no different.
