Useless Books
 

I notice that there are a LOT of books and scrolls floating around in shops which don't do anything... Like you buy Compendium of Deep Pathways and all it does is tell you a list of spells which may or may not work yet. Lots of scrolls don't even have more than one spell listed. Why are these books cluttering up the shops? I, personally, would remove them. They don't do anything useful.

On the same note, there are spells found in shops which apparently don't work yet.... Like I bought Summon Fog the other day. Know what Summon Fog does? It makes a nice pretty light in front of the character. I'm sure it will do something more eventually, but why is it even being sold now?

Well you have to remember, Stefan didn't make the mudlib, he got it from someplace which others have used it because to make his own, would of taken 10 years he said. So everything you see is because of the mudlib, not because Stefan wanted it to be like that but, he will get around to changing everything (and fixing some things) when he has time to do so. I don't think he has the time to script a new shop right now. He wants to release new things to keep people happy and in the process he is trying to fix some old things.

I know Stefan didn't do it... but I would think (it just makes sense to me) that there would be a list of items sold in shops, and that by deleting certain items off the list you can get rid of them... so no rescripting would be necessary.
