Alchemy

Make Alchemy scorlls actually have to be learned, not gotten of a forum or a website. Now if people wanna share the actual scroll with people, thats fine, but make it so you have to have the scorll in your possession at one point in time before you can start making things.

thats how i think it should be anyway..

That is kinda........ well....... no.

Alchemists have (I think) one of the most interesting role-play opportunities on Graal. We get to teach other players how to do class-specific stuff. No other class can do that.

For an alch, it's not as simple as just learning a skill and then waiting for your SP to recharge so you can do it again. We have to actively search for the ingredients, usually paying buttloads of money in the hopes of earning a little profit. If we were totally dependent on the scrolls it would make our advancement much, much more difficult, and would unbalance us as a class.

On the other hand...... NOTE TO MY FELLOW ALCHEMISTS:
I think it's great that we have certain recipes posted so beginning alchs can get started easily.... but don't post the more advanced recipes. Make the other alchs (including myself) learn them the hard way. :D

(I have a cookbook for Gloves of Bladed Steel... and I ain't sharing!) :D :D :D Can you say, "Monopoly"?

Monopoly.

well first off all i never said you shouldnt stil have to get the ingreediants, i think you should not be able to cheat and get the list of ingreediants at a web site, i paid for a few scrolls and i dont think its fair that others can just look them up on the web

You should have to have the scroll in your posession at one time or another to make anything out of the ingreediants. Weather or not someone gave it to you or just let you read it, you should have to have it at one point in time.

It is not role playing to go on the information forum and read the alchemy recipies.

for all you know ill post that recipie up on a web site tomorrow and then every new alchemist has the same chance to make it since the alchemy really isnt dependent on level

which is why they should have to see the actual scroll one day first rather then get it of a god forsaken web site!! :: cries ::

heh;)

Id much rather be spammed by no0bs asking me to read my recipie than them just get it off a web site :(

I'm thinking of branching into alchemy (to be a sorc/warrior/alchemist/priest) What do you need for alchemy? I know you need a cauldron, a scroll and spell of alchemy, but is there more?

Cauldron, alchemy (the spell), alchemistry (the skill), .... lots of plat to get started.... lots of charm and intelligence to make a profit.... and level 3 magic to cast alchemy. Lots of patience, a water can, and a ring of speed are also very useful items.

why do you say that? there are several alch recipes right here on the forums, and you can buy more when you see them.

if you can't make money off of SOME of these, you should probably restart. :)
