"Auto Updating"
On Classic levels aren't held in memory after the last player left, so every change vanished. This is annoying when you are using putnpcs and they are vanishing just because you left the level.

isn't that 'suppose' to happen? once the client leaves the level there is nothing left to run it since everything is clientside

It's a huge problem for events. The GC places an NPC in the one level, another in the next one, and until the players get there the NPCs vanished.
On Classic we have got Bomb Games. You need to disable certain bombs, if you succeed you get a prize. To be able to disable them, you need to touch another NPC which equips you to disable bombs in this event. Normally there are like five or more NPCs spread over many levels. On Classic we have got Fighting Fish. Those are pets you can carry around in a fish bowl and you can put them in water to swim around and to fight each other. The fish (especially the wild ones) should stay in the level even when there is no player in them. Yes, they won't move, but all I want them is to stay there. On Classic we have got NPCs to block levels. Once there was an NPC online that really shouldn't be there and I had no RC access to remove it. I placed a warpbomb, which is the best way to keep players out of a level (it warps everybody who enters it away). Unfortunatly the level always reset, so I couldn't block it. |
oh, I see what ya mean, has this always happened or just recently?
|
The last two months or so.
At least I remember it working before Classic went p2p. I once picked up a bomb ticket which was left from an earlier event... Edit: now the RC tells me there are just 100 levels or so loaded in the memory. We have over 6000 levels on Classic. |
