Cira Baen...

I know that Cira Baen hasn't been heard from in a long time, there is a reason for this.

About two weeks ago, I borrowed my mother's car at night while you was sleeping. I got caught, she pressed charges, and I was put into jail. Well, this coming monday I go to court for Grand Theft Auto. So I have no idea what my fate is, the judge is the same one from 3 years ago with an inciddent and he really doesn't like me, so he probably will put me in prison for 5 years.

I'm living with a friend right now and all my Cira Baen files are on my mother's computer, which I don't have access to. So I really can't work on it.

I'm sorry everyone.

taz-graal 10-02-2002 03:38 AM

I'm sorry to hear that screenie.
Maybe try and get your mom to drop the charges?

Aknts 10-02-2002 04:43 AM

Your mom is a *****..

Give me your phone number screen I will tell her a thing or too. I won't say where I am from or anything or how I got the number and I will block my number for being traced too.

I think I should give her a piece of my mind.

AlexH 10-02-2002 06:39 AM

Your mum pressed charges on you?
Isn't that a little rough to do to your own son?

zell12 10-02-2002 06:55 AM

You people do not know what is going on between him and his mother, or his mother and his fater so I suggest you shouldn't talk about this part of the conversation any longer. :o

Graal2001_NAT 10-02-2002 07:30 AM

what kindog mother would send there own kid to jail for about 5 years...:( its not like you stole it if you just borrowed it

Mustang1988 10-02-2002 07:42 AM

Yeah, that happened to one of my friends. Except it was his dad that did it. He's in juvenile hall for one and a half more years. I don't think this situation is that rare. :(

screen_name 10-02-2002 09:30 AM

She's pressed charges on me before.

I know what I did was wrong and I should face punishment, but not like this. But I'm going to talk to her some more about dropping the charges, which I hope she does.

Excalibur, my father has nothing to do with me and my mother and I weren't having problems at the time so :\.

taz-graal 10-02-2002 11:05 AM

Good luck.

I'm sure things will work out.

MattMrHat 10-02-2002 12:34 PM

Dont worry, good things happen to good people sooner or later. What goes around comes around, your mom will eventually have a worse fate. Its bad to hear Cira Baen is gone.
Your mom is strict man, if I took my mom's car, drove at high speeds, hit our cat, and smashed into a tree, my mom would only ground me for a month!:( And maybe make me do chores to pay off the damage

I'm sure this thing about his mother has some reasonable background to why she pressed charges on her own son.

She really hates me for some reason, just because I'm male.

She's been hurt by her boyfriends in the past and now I pay for your bad taste in men.

I dont think so, he said she pressed charges 3 years ago, so that is kinda not going to happen, I think. What I would do, is sit down with her and talk about everything, like "I know boys were bad to you in the past, but that doesnt make me like them. I am your son and I love you!" If she truly loves you after you say that, she wont charge you. I know normal moms, they cant handle the truth in a way that unlocks their true feelings.;)

zell12 10-03-2002 06:11 AM

That doesn't work o.o They just get all upsaet and stuffs :(

yea, although screenie has kinda really pissed me off, i mean, he posts on here, and i understand he is going through a tough time, but he leaves all the CB guys (Me, Chibi, spark911, and kinda ex) high and dry and wont post on the forums (CB ones)

MattMrHat 10-05-2002 05:49 AM

i just realized, dont do what I said. My mom is very gullible and emotional o.o

I was looking forward to seeing CB, maybe even planning on helping out. It sucks that it had to be dead.. Maybe we can talk sometime screenie, on AOL about scripting and such. ( my aol boostrader )

To take without permission IS stealing , you can candy coat it anyway you want to but it comes down to the same thing.BTW I would do the same to my children if they did that. That is NOT like stealing cookies from a cookie jar, you guys don't seem to understand something , his mother is responsible for his actions , if he had had a wreck and killed someone , who will be held responsible? Who would be sued and could lose everything they own? His Mother and Father if it applies , this is not something to be taken lightly and you guys condeming his mother need to think about that....:(

Shut up, all parents arent as stupid as some people. They love their children, what kind of blowhole would treat their kid that way? You obviously dont know everything that has happened.. Let's say you are my dad, and you set your pencil down and walk away, then I pick it up and go write something, and you have me thrown in jail for stealing. Its the same situation! It should not be called stealing between family members, or else everyone would be in jail because in my house we all use the same things. Like the remote for the TV, which my sister does take from me very often but I never have her thrown in jail. :( What kind of parent are you to agree with what his mom does to him?

thank you for the CB support, and i think it is **** what screenie's mom did to him too, but dont talk like that to moon god, he has the age and experience over you to know what he is talking about...

There's a rather large differences between taking a pencil and a car.

And to Moon God, it would depend on how old he is.
I'm not sure how old it is in America but if your over a certain age it would be him that is held responsible and not his parents.

you would ruin your own kids life by sending them to jail?

Kaimetsu 10-05-2002 09:04 AM

I might press charges in the circumstances, it depends on how much I care about the child. This isn't the first time screen_name has broken laws and, as a realist, I doubt if it would be the last. I have nothing against him as a person, but jail is for criminals.

Hahaha, lmao. Isn't that what he got arrested for the first time? Don't provoke him! lol. But seriously, Moon God could be as old as dirt and not have a clue about being a good parent, age means nothing. And wether its a pencil, a car, or whatever, parents were meant to take care of their children.. Having them sent to jail where they will become depressed and most-likely be violated by some big hairy ape is not something any loving parent would do.

Being sent to jail is a form of disipline which all parents enforce on their children (disipline that is not jail).
I'm sure no-one wants to be in jail so if he's there even for a day he will relize how much he could lose by doing something like that again.

Tough love is what's sometimes needed.

But something a responsible parent would do. In any case, not sending them to jail runs the risk that they will do something more serious later and get a bigger sentence.

This is true, under US law and in most States , he can be charged as an Adult at 17 , as for accountiblity , if he lives at home , no matter what his age Parents can be help all or partly responsible for him, depending on the age. If he is under 18 then they are held responsible. If he is over 18 but still at home both he and his parents can be sued for damages. My son is 18 and still is at home , has no drivers lic , he is not a very responsible person , he expressed the same idea of taking the car witout our knowedge and Moonie and I point blank told him we would press charges if he did that.He also has had some scrapes with the law and has a Juvinule record (which is now sealed) BUT if he did something like that it would be hard time for him. It is not that we do not love our son , not only in our house but Society has rules we ALL have to follow them and if we don't we pay the price of our foolishness. If we didn't love him we would just turn the other way and let him do whatever he wants to do , but this is not love. Nobody wants to see their offspring in jail as I don't BUT if a person does not modify their behavior to conform to Societies rules then this will happen , by pressing charges and seeing that they are punished , is to make them see the errors of what they are doing so they will stop.Simply telling them (if you are at this point) will do no good if they are stealing anyones car, so more drastic measures are nessary. It is the desire for all parents who love their children for them to have a full , happy and produtive life.Sometimes we have to take bitter steps to make this happen because if you don't sooner or later they will be behind bars not for a few years but for a lifetime and that would break any parents heart.
