Limited Ability/Community Interaction

Right now you can make alot of your things by yourself. You can make ships, craft weapons and armour, make your own food, mine your own minerals, etc.

All these things should take skills to do. Meaning most people would only be able to do one of these things. That would give way for more community interaction. For instance instead of a player doing everything for himself, this is an example:

Player X is a blacksmith, he has the blacksmith skill and makes weapons and armour for sale in the town. However, he does not have the minning skills, and buys all his minerals from Miner X. Player's shop was built by Carpentor X. And Player X not having the farming skills or the tailoring skills has to buy his leather goods from Tailor X and his food from Market Clerk X (who gets his supply from Farmer X).

problem is we can barely afford to do what we do now... human-like monsters need to (directly) drop cash

Skills should only be initially learned by using scrolls. They should advance by being used.

What if you started with one skill scroll and one random trade skill, you only need one of these skills, which is the point. For instance you want to be a blacksmith you restart until you get blacksmith, the point is NOT to be able to afford all the skills.

Example: Whenever you create a character you get one of the following.

Blacksmithing
Bowyer
Minning
Cooking
Tailoring
Farming
Carpenter
Etc.

Note: That doesn;t mean your proffession has to be what skill you get, that's just what you knwo what to do/make.

Well it doesn't matter anyway, nearly all the skills are useless, what can I ID with jeweler? Nothing... Fix the skills first, then we can move further.

I saw an unidentified ring once... but that was before they removed the summon spells because they dropped items:\

oh and people are limited to some extent in jobs they can do... a sorcerer for example makes a crappy miner without melee weapons, and can't chop logs either... also preists taht follow Brigid don't have any tool or melee knowledge so they can't make anything :P
