Don't Remove!

I know a lot of people will disagree with me, and I understand where you're comming from. But PLEASE don't remove stat loss! I've died quite a few times and I don't like it much either, but we don't want another 2k1-so-easy-to-get-good-in thing. I mean, you could make stat gain eaiser or stat loss a little less harsh, but its a good RP element and it stops all those players who have like 100kills and 10000000000deaths and still have high stats on other servers.

Stat lose doesn't bother me that much what annoys me is the fact that I need to work for food a rather lot just to stay alive.
Hunger spoils the fun for me on the server. :(

stat loss doenst bother me that much either, its just i dont really want to go in a kingdom war(low lvl4) and be killed in like two hits by konidias then lose loadsa stats!

Valder 09-17-2002 01:04 AM

Stat loss if you die from someone killing you

NO stat loss if you die from hunger :)

I say time based temporary Stat loss and no exp loss for PvP.... since killing players gives no exp...
But keep it as it is when killing npc monsters....

Nothing like having a lag spike and dying in the dungeon, then finding out my max MP is now down one point.

Er1c 09-17-2002 06:38 AM

I think for player vs player combat no stats should be lost, and VERY little exp should be lost... like 1/15... and that peaceful should be gotten rid of.

As for monsters killing you, stat/exp loss is fine the way it is... just be more careful.

i got an idea how about players can chose not to lose stats can olny attack those who chose that too, players who chosse to lose stats can olny pk the ones who chose to lose them.
or make those who cant lost them cant pk as well. or maby there should be like its realy hard to pk monsters like you need a bunch of friends to pk monsters that way all the noobs wont get all the stats. so it will still be fair. HAPPY I USED PERIODS!!!!

/peaceful isn't even properly running yet. For one, peaceful is supposed to have limited use, meaning if you go off of peaceful you can't go back on for a certain amount of time.

I don't think stat loss needs to be removed, however Er1c's idea for pking seems to be good. Maybe shaving off about 10% experience loss for deaths caused by non-players would be a good idea?

In the future, I plan on making a few different ways to regain stats, whether it be from potions of restoration, or doing some sort of quest, or just having to take some time to do something in order to be restored.

Either way, there needs to be some downsides to dying, such as experience loss, maybe not as much, but I feel there needs to be something that can be lost that you can't just gain back by using a potion. It's a hard task to try and balance out a good difficulty level for a wide assortment of players with different levels of skill.

i agree with ericto

er1c has a good idea and it should be changed to that in PvP it iwll be hell of a fun time killing people =P with no stat loss i wouldnt feel bad of killing someone any more..

brock128 09-17-2002 06:38 PM

HELLO. THINK WITH YOUR BRAINS PEOPLE.

Eric - I don't think you remember the time when there was "x killed y with z" 100 times on the right side of the screen, the toalls being filled with "BLAH IS PKING ME I CAN'T GET OUT OF THE SAND."

Stat loss. No. No. No. No. And no.

Selzar 09-17-2002 09:20 PM
