I think that non g2k2 staffs shouldnt have warpto so they can get to places faster without walking*Cough* Aftershock*Cough*
I been seen him warping around g2k2 alot .he warps to places like testbog.nw so he can restart and out his items there,he warps to shops,he warps to blackness or the last room of the dungeon and i asked him why and he said because of laggy spells. We'll we all have to deal with laggy spells so why does he get to leave when he is lagged and about to die? He's not the only one doing it.Some other global staffs do it too like Toran and lydnsey,

You guys are going to protect him and flame me but the truth has to be said. This is pith reporting from the Graal News Network Center in Houston,TX

I don't know if you play g2k2 often or not but I saw you warpto Brad in dungeon yesterday or day before that

Discharge 09-14-2002 10:05 AM

Something funny happened once, he warp to me and I was hunting with Constinople and Con accidently killed him cause he warp in front of him. It was sad and I said poor Aftershock got a wapto-wack-of-death.

Poor fella was only level 2 :(

My Graal started bugging up, I had a ton of PMs so I didn't want to reconnect or else I would lose them all, so I warped to someone on my buddy list, who was Brad. I didn't know any levels names because I don't play 2002 that often.

_0AfTeRsHoCk0_ 09-14-2002 10:07 AM

Fine, but the thing is, I'm not abusing it.

Yes, when I restart, I warp to testbog so I can store my items. What should I do? Leave them out in the open so a thief can steal them? Make someone hold onto it so it weighs them down?

Yes, I warp to people sometimes. Usually it's when they want me to hold onto their items when they restart, or they want me to take x item to store in testbog while they restart, I do that for them sometimes. Other times they want to give me an itemso I can test something (like why I was warping to ghost pirate is so I could get a scroll from him and try out the pen). However, seen as though he was INSIDE a room, as soon as I walk out of it, I end up exactly where I started (start island from the hair shop)

Other than that, I usually don't warp anywhere else. And warping further into the dungeon has absolutely no consequences that benefit me, except the fact that I had to fight harder monsters (and I died anyways). I do not use warp when I RP, that would be the epitomy of bad role-playing.

It's not fair how you get to use testbog and everyone else have to give it to their friend to hold or hide it somewhere

umm you don't have to warpto them. You can just walk to them like everyone else

Well you avoid getting killed by monster and warped in the last room of the dungeon because a sorcerer was using a laggy spell and we had to suffer but you dont?
And I'm sure you won't warp during rp events because I heard you're a great rpers but I just think it's not right that you get all those advantages and we don't.

Yeah, I don't have to warp places, but it makes it easier. I mean, I have to think logically. If someone has an OOC (out of character) request, then why should I have to walk from start island, all the way to tanarthia on main island? However, if it comes to IC events, I would walk, because, of course, travelling with companions on the road between towns and fending off baddies is half the fun. Fulfilling such OOC requests is something similar to what DragonX might do, except I'm not a registered Graal 2002 staff member.

As for testbog, I still don't see what the problem is. It would be no different if I went to the top left corner of Samurai island or something, some place where no one would really go, dropped my items there, and restarted, except that it's much more convenient for me.

If it honestly bothers you that much, then strap on a leash to me, scrutinize my every move and report me again if I do something unlawful or immoral. But if you had warpto on graal 2002, tell me honestly, would you not use it at least a few times for convenience?

Then we should all get warptos so when someone asks us to go to them for ooc request we can warp to them:rolleyes:

But you get to go there when ever you want to restart and we can't.You should walk to a place and hide items like the rest of us

Actually I won't use it to warp.and you fogot to reply to some of the other things like you avoid dieing in dungeons and now I just remembered I was killing you along time ago and you warped away and then I was killing you in the sparring arena and you warped again hmm now thats gotta be wrong

_0AfTeRsHoCk0_ 09-14-2002 10:48 AM

Yeah some things I've done earlier on was wrong, I'll admit that.

I don't warp away from baddies, seen as though by the time I open up the minimap, scroll through the dungeons, click and point, the monster can usually kill me (my computer is slow, that's why). Running is a much more reasonable solution.

However, you probably must be the only one that would never use warp on 2k2 if it was given to you then, that's quite surprising. I'm quite sure most people would take advantage of that some time or another.

Now, I'd also like to ask how I've used the warpto for personal gain. Hmm.. let's see, I've been resetting a lot lately (too much DEATH in the dungeons even though I could have warped away), so currently my character is a level 1, I have 58 plat and modest equipment (diamond blade, shiny hield, silver paladin). I mean, I see people with 400k exp that don't have warpto, and they're much better off than me. I'd understand if you said that I'm abusing it and I got like 500k exp and all this cash, but the fact of the matter is, I don't. And for that reason alone, I don't think you should use this argument against me.

Like I said, I'll try to crack down on myself for what little warping I do, but really, when kingdom isles come out, and knowing Dustari on 2k1, most of my days will be spent in the throne room, managing tags, reading PM's and dealing with promotions.

It's not like I have any problem with it.... but don't you have warpto because you are pw inspector or something? You're kind of using it out of context, which would be abuse of that power. :(

Yep, I already adressed that issue. I usually use it most time just to store items, store items or meet with others that need help or my attention, or warping out of a wall or bug. I would never use it in RP like I stated, because that would be like blasphemy against my RP guidelines. And of course I promise to restrain myself and such frm what little warping I do. Pith's got his hawk eye on me.

Besides, why are you complaining? You'll be getting one for 2k2 soon, and I'll be keeping my eye on you, too...
:p

game_king 09-14-2002 11:37 AM

iam not going to say anything against you only because i would probable do the same thing your doing but face it Pith yes its wrong but anyone that has power abuses it, people say they will stop it but it happens in life and it happens in games so you just have to get over it and hope something is done about it, wich probable wont happen so there is no point crying or getting upset over it

I think Pith has the "I-Want-One-Too" sickness. I don't believe him when he says he wouldn't use warpto. No offense, Pith, you might mean it when you say "no" but I bet you'd change your mind. I would.

Shoot, I'd use warpto to get out of THAT. For sure. :D

Kaimetsu 09-14-2002 09:44 PM

Crazily, I agree with Pith. Even if the benefits are only small, they're still unearned. Playerworld inspectors shouldn't get powers on servers like 2K2.

jeff335 09-14-2002 09:45 PM

You could just as easily say that it's unfair that George W. Bush gets a Secret Service detail free from the Treasury for the rest of his life while Bill Gates has to hire a bodyguard.

That's because of a little concept we call "reward for services rendered." The President does a lot more work than Bill Gates has ever done.

Same could go for Aftershock getting global warpto while Porky has to get someone to hold his items. Aftershock earns his warpto by inspecting all the ssjvegetamon123-riddled drug-supporting 8-players el cheapo playerworlds and by using the big red Fail sign on el cheapo playeworlds-to-be.

Fair enough, but we both know that Stefan doesn't intend for the powers to be used that way. We can't assume they're any kind of reward when in reality they're far more likely to be mere tools for work.

jeff335 09-14-2002 10:48 PM

What I meant is that the right to use them for nonwork purposes is a bit of a reward for services rendered.

Porky lay off! Your a huge griefer who's reporting one of the best people on graal for warping a few times.

DragonX actually abuses his warping powers every single day...so what? Are you going to make a new thread that says: "DragonX abuse poweers." *whine* *cry* *whine*

There are plenty of staff who aren't even doing their jobs(that happens on every server). Are you going to report them too?

I agree that he shouldn't be warping all over the place to his advantage, but really are you making this public because your jealous or because you actually feel that he's breaking the rules and you wouldn't do it yourself.

You didn't need to make this public, you said you told Stefan already so what is this thread for?

I guess everytime you blow up a newbie ship just to make them mad, or start stealing things, just because you can, I'll have to send my guild after you. "I'll be watching you."

I wish people would get this idea out of their heads. I also wish you would stop spreading this around. Angel also seems to believe that having RC is a "reward" and not a "tool".

I'm sure many others too.. Birdbird used to abuse stuff but he thought it was "okay" because he was being "rewarded" for all his hard work. (since he wasn't being paid)

It's total garbage. No staff should be using tools for their personal benefit/gain, EVER. Just today I saw Er1c warping around the dungeon yet he argues he was "answering complaints in pm's". Then I hit him twice while he was casting a spell which made the spell not work, and he warps me to the topleft corner of start map in the middle of nowhere.

I ask him why and he says "you were abusing a bug because people aren't supposed to be able to hit other players and make them lose spells while on peaceful mode" He was just pissed that I made him lose two spells, and without warning, and acting very childish, he warps me to nowhere land.

This is what has to stop. Also him destroying shop items over and over for people so that they can get good items, while other people who weren't in the shop at the time have to come back later and suffer waiting for 30 minutes for a restock. It's inbalance to the game.

Valder 09-15-2002 10:29 AM

I don't think anyone on 2k2 deserves ANYTHING except Stefan and Unixmad. Too many people abuse their power and don't really do anything to deserve it.

I think er1c does since he scripts things and sometimes needs to warp to certain places to test things, but people who apparently only have rc to test things and find bugs (like DragonX) dont need rc or warpto

DragonX2 09-15-2002 10:42 AM

Yeah, I'm sorry I can't spend what is it now *checks*
498 hrs 0 mins 5secs
sitting on RC answering everyone's questions. I don't 'need' anything but it's useful to have. When people need help I warp to them. I am a FAQ I guess, I have no idea I don't have a 'title'. I help people and I test things when needed. Do I answer your PM's quickly? Yes. Would you rather have someone who just sits there ignoring everyone and not answering any questions people have? No, I don't think so. I like showing people where things are not just saying 'Oh go here and do this, etc'. I mean most of the time yes but if they say can you show me (and I'm not like trying to level up or something) I say ok and I warp to them to show them. RC is useful, not needed I know but it is very useful. It lets me help people more, when people are stuck I warp them out. Would you rather have to unstick all the time? Nah.

I had NO idea that you couldn't stop players spells when they were in peaceful mode. There is no information handed to me that tells me that is a bug. You didn't tell me until after the fact. You "gave me a chance"?! What chance? Because I did it once, it wasn't okay for me to do it again? Since when? I wasn't told this.

It wasn't my complaints guy, I didn't complain, I asked why you warped me to the middle of nowhere, and this was AFTER you had been warping around the dungeon room. Don't try to make me look like the bad guy here when you were the one that affected a players gameplay without warning and without their knowledge that they did anything wrong.

Only problem with that, is the fact that Stefan is too busy coding and Unixmad is too busy managing, to sit on 2k2 all day and help each person with their problems. That is the reason there is staff. However, it seems the staff think it's okay to warp wherever they please and then make up excuses saying that they use it to help the players 100% of the time. Which is just total lies.
