Why?
I was looking at the screenshot on the main website area, and it was a screenshot of a ship shooting bombs. Why is it shooting bombs? I thought cannons were suppose to shoot cannon balls? Do they light the bombs and stick them into the cannon to shoot?
Captain: Let's put a bomb in the cannon! Ship Mate 1: Aye aye, Captain! *lights bomb and puts it in cannon* Captain: Fire the cannon! Ship Mate 1: Aye, Captain! *fires cannon* BOOM *flashy lights, explosion* |
No NO no! it's like this:
Captain: Fire the cannon's at that ship! First Mate: We ran out of Cannon balls :( Captain: What do you mean? Second Mate: We launched them all at the island because you thought it'd be funny! Captain: Oh shoot... well... shoot some bombs! *first mate loads bomb into cannon* second Mate: She's gonna blow *everyone hops off the boat, into the water as the ship explodes!* ---Shifter |
It's shooting bombs because it's a g2k2 ship and g2k2 ships shoot bombs. Geez.
Ok, really I think it's for the exploding cannonball effect. Cannons could shoot bombs with fuses which explode after a certain amount of time. Maybe pirate ships didn't use them so much (or maybe they did, who knows) but the cannonbomb idea really was widely used, at least on land. |
Well, they must be enchanted cannonbombs then. Otherwise, we'd all be dead. Yay for magic cannonbombs that don't explode on ship and are very effective when fighting other ships or attacking land lubbers.
