Some of you people...
Need a lesson in patience.
These people that constantly ask/complain/*****/whine about when new things are coming out, need to stop, because it's annoying. Like I said in another thread, what are you people thinking? You act as if Stefan has everything for 2k2 done, and he is just toying around with you as to the date of their release. You ask "when is this coming out" he gives you an estimated date, it doesn't come out on that date, you whine "where is it?!" he says, there have been delays, he gives a new release date, the date comes and goes with no release, you ***** "stefan this is BS!$%!%", and then Stefan rushes to release it, it comes out, and then people ***** about the bugs. Stop acting as if it takes mere moments to produce all these new things. It takes a lot of time, and it takes a lot of effort. When are dungeons coming out? WHEN THEY GET FINISHED. When are kingdoms coming out? WHEN THEY GET FINISHED. When will <insert problem with something you have> be fixed? EVENTUALLY. I know you're paying for this service, but your expectations of the staff are too high. If things aren't being released, they aren't finished. It's not because they are done and the staff just want to piss you off by not releasing it. |
but... but... I want everything NOW :(
|
1. We get a estimated date for VERY few things.
2. Where do you see someone "*****ing and complaining"? 3. People have a right to at least ASK when something will be out. If not, why don't we scrap dates on anything. On expiration dates we can say good until it starts smelling with a foul odour? And if we ask around what time that will be the grocery store people will throw oranges at us. And when they are advertising a new movie, there will be no release date. And if we ask what MONTH we can expect it, the cinema workers will yell at us that it will come out when it's finished. Right? |

Staff ae annoyed by players, players are annoyed by Staff... Ahh the circle of life on graal =0
Seriusly though, not many people ***** about releases, most simpley ask, those that do *****, are usually ignored. |
Man, you guys REALLY need to chill out. It is 100% pointless for you guys to seem to NEED a date for everything. Only a FEW of you guys have rights to "*****" so to speak though. Jagen, he scripts QUITE well, he knows how long it takes to make things. Plus when you're talking it can't be just STANDARD or Barely ABOVE Standard, it has to be the BEST THING of Graal or people won't want to buy it. It is a business. they would rather wait and put a lot of time into something so they will make more. You guys NEED to be patient, it is important to Stefan and the rest of the Dev team to make good things and debug them and all, it takes time. Of course there are SOME things that they're witholding, but that is because they don't want to JUST release little things, it makes a MUCH bigger impact to put big/new things together. Would you REALLY rather have a new sword system in a month, or wait two months for swords and shields? Doesn't it make MUCH more sense for them to release things together?

Shifter you need to READ what people are asking. Not trying to suck up by agreeing with konidias. Nobody is asking for them to be released early, we are asking when they will be released. There is a huge difference.

For one, expiration dates are not the same as release dates. An expiration date tells when something will expire, a release date tells when something is to be released. Judging when something is going to go bad is easier than judging when kingdoms are going to be ready for release. Two, movies are advertised AFTER they are made. They advertise movies a month in advance, as to get people interested in the movie, and to acknowledge that the movie is nearing release. They don't announce the release date of a movie halfway through production. Three, you're trying to group release dates of new things in an online game, to movie releases, and expiration dates. Which are not the same thing. Stop being stupid and get educated. |
I am very very very disapionted in you if think you are more intelligent or educated because you can point out the obvious and not unintended differences between my real life example and what is happeneing here, and labelling me an idiot while not even addressing what I tried to imply by writing those examples.
But if you want to be so correct about everything, I'll give you another example which I want you to answer to and not complain how they are different things: You are convinced into going to a relativaly far away beach by your friend. You don't know any more than that. Would it not be acceptable for you to ask what time can you expect to be there, or how far away it is? Sure. And this is how it is with Graal, we know things are coming, we know they will obviously come out when they are finished (just like we know you would arrive when you get there) but sometimes you just want to know relativly when that will be or how far along is it. It's not like peopel are constantly asking about it, or complaining how it's comign too slow. But I don't see how anyone can find it wrong that someone asks a question about a date that has not yet been asked. A simple soon, or in beta, or I don't know yet. Is a good enough answer. I hope you can respond to this and realize you are taking a simpel question way too seriously. |

anyway, the only problem i think people encounter is the fact that most people here are what, 14 years old or younger? you have to realize waiting is one of the HARDEST things to ever do. that's why projects should always remain secret, undisclosed, and presumed "complete" only when told so. i also think people are forgetting that the server is alpha. |
Yves:
My only complaint is that I am still banned after 5 weeks... |
Antago my points are very valid, and make alot more sense than his complaining.
Secondly, why should the status of projects remain secret and undisclossed? You didn't give a reason. Well actually you did but the reason had nothign to do with what you actaully said. it would be like me saying abortions have been on the rise the past 10 years, thefore it is clear to say the OJ Simpson case was bribed. As I remember you should be about 15 shouldn't you? Maybe younger. And yet your points are no better than mine. |
DeathChill:
uh, I don't play the gold servers or really any servers now, cuz graal isn't even on my computer. BUT, aren't the dungeons already done anyway? When I used to work there Stefan was always running around in them with Er1c and I. :S Yea but let Stefan release it when he damn well feels like it  |

and, a project should remain secret because of, obviously, what this thread is discussing. impatience for it. |
So how is not knowing the details of a project or the release date or if it has been started yet make people any less impatiant. Unless of course you mean not even telling people that there is a project like that, which would work.

Well sorry for not understanding that, because I thought you meant keeping the status or details of a project. it's because the thing that I assume pissed off Konidias into posting this was asking about a project which we already know is coming.
|
It is obviously apparent that there are many unpaitent people in the midst of Graal. There are people who do complain when something is prolonged to another date. But that is really their problem if they cannot wait. While they *****, and complain..The rest of us will wait paitently for a better product in the end.

Anyway, I belive calling people *****s/idiots and such, is very stupid, scince you don't know them, and thus can not make acusations that you can not back up x.X OK I confused my self... - Androk (Mood: -_-) |
I called him an idiot because he is trying to compare totally irrelevant things, to the release date of things in an online game. None of the things he mentioned are not even close in relation.
Asking for release dates does several things: 1. Annoys the developers and staff 2. Annoys players when the release isn't made on the date staff gave 3. Annoys people that have to constantly listen to people yelling for things to come out There is no plus side to asking when something is going to be done. Let me explain something, I've been doing this online game/game making thing for like 5-6 years, and I've had to put up with a lot of crap. Mostly people asking "When is it going to be done?" it drives me nuts when anyone even SAYS that anymore. With the development of an online game, there is no way in hell you can possibly predict (to the exact day) when something will be finished. I'm sure some people don't understand why I get so angry about it, but when you've seen the same thing happening for 5 years, it gets annoying. Also, age has nothing to do with this. You say I'm 18 and that's supposed to make a difference? People are always talking about how age doesn't matter, as a 12 year old can act more mature and be more intelligent then a 17 year old. I wasn't an impatient ***** when I was 14-15, I don't see why other people feel they are an exception. |
Konidias yet again you evade telling me where ANYONE has asked for things to come out early. Show me where, a link to a thread will do. Askign when things come out isn't the same as saying "UPLOAD THEM NOW YOU BASTARDS"is it?
Second respond to the example I posted before, that one is relevant. |

Why do you constantly try to jump off the topic of the post? This is like the 3rd-4th time your posts have been completely irrelevant to the topic. |
Oh btw BlKnight, refer to your own post:
http://forums.graal2001.com/forums/s...threadid=36944 Asking when bracelets and such will be out. Let's see, they released shields, helmets, armor, boots, etc.... Don't you think it would be logical that the bracelets will eventually come out? Why must you have an exact date? Will it matter? If they don't come out that day, then you will just be angry and feel lied to. You can avoid the entire ordeal by just waiting until they are out. You're just wasting staff member's time making them have to estimate the release. The estimated time would probably not be accurate in the first place. |
Jesus, get over it x.X They come out when they come out... get over it!
---Shifter |
Shutup Shifter, no offense but you are in no way involved in this nor knwo the facts and are argueing a point that has nothing to do with what me and Kondiias are argueing about. Third of I am not ****ing complaining about when they are coming out, get it through your head. Thank you.
Secondly I am not off topic Kondias, and realize you are the one who is capmplaing and *****ing. I don't want to get into an arguement with anyone. I do however hate people like Shifter. Who, obviously not knowing anything about the situation is skimming through the posts and posts stupid **** like that. Either that or he is argueing with an imaginary person. You have to agree here at least with me Konidias even if he is siding with you. |

Too bad it was never released, maybe I would still see my forum buddies since BMG is gone...even though I'm not even remotely interested in the game content anymore. :D |
OMG, I was agreeing basically with the topic. Don't say you h8 me when you don't know me. If people have a problem w/ dates, that is their loss.

I still to this day, get the occasional person asking me when it will be finished. What happened, was people got impatient, eventually people started revolting, and saying I wasn't even making anything, and that I was just bluffing to get popularity or some crap. Basically their own impatience drove me to stop making it. I don't want to make games for a bunch of impatient accusing fools anyway. :( |

People can be impatient without being jerks. Like: "I can't wait for <thing> to come out! I hope you finish it soon!". But people can also be jerks: "Release <thing>! You said it was nearly done a week ago! I'm tired of waiting!" Two different perspectives. |
