Folder managment
Currently all the graphics and ganis are saved in the same folder no matter which server they came from. This makes it hard for me to see which of them is actually existing on Classic or not.
It would be nice if there'd be subfolders for each server in the webgifs, sounds and ganis folders. That would also avoid conflicts when two servers are using the same filename for a different file. |
But it would be annoying for people with slow connections to download the same files multiple times =\
|
once for each server...not a huge amount of data.
But a not-noticable bit more lag isn't as bad as a conflict. And I was not speaking of heads/swords/shields/bodies. |
It's still alot =\

Graal already does clever foldermanagement on startup. Have it check for duplicates, and if it's the same name but different date and folder, save to that folder and use that folder's copy - current PW folder is top of the heirarchy.
Be useful for worlds that have a different bigmap.txt, for instance. Gr. I don't think it'd be necessary to have a seperate copy for each world - but it wouldn't be so huge an imposition either. For one, it would speed things up as Graal would not have to check the other PW folders for a copy of something before downloading. For another, it is uncommon for a player to routinely visit more than a few worlds. For yet a third benefit, if you never intend to return to Valk, it's very easy to delete the Valk folder. |
