Graphics

I really think we need more graphics admins. Jackal is the only one I ever see on and he can't always be on to submit graphics. I think more admins should have the rights to submit graphis for players or there should be more people hired for graphics.

My bastard friend downloaded some Qtramax thing on my computer and it corrupted MSIEXEC.EXE (Windows Installer, I think) so I'll have to reformat one of these days.

Acererak 08-26-2002 03:31 AM

Acererak 08-26-2002 08:35 AM

evilive 08-26-2002 09:10 AM

::cough::BomyGuy::cough::

Acererak 08-26-2002 11:05 AM

Eh he shouldn't have to reformat. Just put your Windows CD in your D drive or whatever drive that reads CDs, right click on the drive, and left click on explore. Then just double click on the setup thing and it will replace any corrupt, missing or non-working files.

You don't have to format to fix the problem, reinstalling windows should help. :)

Acererak 08-26-2002 11:30 AM

That usually works, or just delete it and re install it...

Antago 08-26-2002 11:36 AM

well, thanks to krakken, i did reformat :)
in fact, i called my sister up and she came over. i am now on my windows 98, and it's a dream. simply. you have no idea just how nice it is to go from being on windows 95, then windows 98, then BACK to 95, and finally back to 98 again. 98 is so convenient, so nice, so...so beautiful :)

everything is running smoothly too, i just hope my mom doesn't corrupt it all again with her constant installing of useless junk.

Flamingblaze 08-26-2002 11:37 AM

Errr I'd recommend Windows 2000 Professional Edition. That's a nice OS I used it a long time then decided to go XP cuz I like customizing stuff and this lets me customize more

Acererak 08-26-2002 12:03 PM

I've Heard 2000 was the best, but it won't work with my moniter so i just have it on a disk, if you want it i can send it to you.

ZanderX 08-26-2002 12:35 PM

Cut it with the spam (the entire "rar" things).

HoudiniMan 08-26-2002 05:54 PM

Ya hear there? Windows 2000 is supposedly the best, now run out and buy it with all that money you have lying around the house! hurry! :p

Give me windows98 second edition with a few downloaded upgrades to things like IE etc. any day, most stable version they ever made.

Acererak 08-27-2002 03:57 AM

If we can get back to the subject, i would like to see more graphics admins, what happened to them?

magicbud3344 08-27-2002 04:39 AM

Most stable?! Most stable MY ASS!

It's quite an unstable platform, thank you very much! I mean really, it flails and dies quite quickly when exposed to a program that duplicates itself every millisecond in an infinite loop.

(and yes, I did do that. quite simple to do in VB. :p)

I beg to differ on that. I have Windows 98 SE on my computer and I wish I had Win2k or even XP on this computer even though I dislike XP..its better then 98. I have had more problems with 98 then any OS that I have ever used. Its to unstable and its not as secure as win2k or XP. :)

Why would you want to do that on any OS??

Jourdan 08-28-2002 04:51 AM

I'd upload graphics and crap if you guys wanted me to, I'd have no problem with it... But I'd have to have an RC on 2k1 first ::winks::

hmm...nah. so many jobs have RCs that don't need them. a job working for graal as a player admin isn't necessarily "work", there's no reason to reward everyone when having their name in a position of power is already a reward. the more RCs are seen as an emblem of all that is worthy, the more players will no longer accept staff positions as respectable unless they do, in fact, have RC access.

but, hey, what do i know? i love to just babble sometimes...and...yeah...i'll let myself out. bye

Then how do you suppose I would to be uploading the peoples graphics hmm?

Python523 08-28-2002 05:00 AM

none of the windows are stable =/ if you want stability go with a linux
and jourdan, where in your job does it say you must upload the peoples graphics x-x

Acererak 08-28-2002 05:14 AM

Gonnmon is the bomy guy...
Anyway, i'm trying out for level maker and that doesn't usually come with RC rights, but really, i don't care.

the RC doesn't let you upload graphics, or even levels for that matter. well, it might now, but as far i know, it doesn't.

galen used to have a neat little tool where people submitted the heads, swords, shields, and stuff. it got annoying after a while though because it'd get to be a pain having to check the queue every two days. if you didn't, good luck spending two hours checking through all the submissions.

i used to have sprees just rejecting anything that wasn't appealing to me at first glance just so it'd go faster. wasn't a pleasant experience, especially since everything submitted sucked.

Graal2001_LAT 08-28-2002 05:19 AM

All I need is the right and I'll upload peoples graphics to an extent. My job is more appropriate to be uploading heads.
