First Graal2002 Tourney

We will organize the first Graal2002 Tourney this next days, it will be a single elimination tourney.

The rule is to fight against someone in the new battle Arena, the first to die loose.

To manage the tournaments we have done a new software, to access this software:

http://www.graalonline.com/tourney

You need to open a tourney account, after a fay days we will generate the tournament and you will be able to see who fight who.

Each winner/looser need to report the result, when you win you report you have 1 FRAG when you loose you have 0 FRAG, if the winner and the looser give the same result then the result is validated.

You must always report your win/loose or we will cancel your right to subscribe to the next tourney.

The winner will choose a free product from the graal shop:

Why would you not be able to use spells? That wouldn't be fair to sorcerers. Should warriors and barbarians not be able to use melee weapons?

Flamingblaze 08-14-2002 05:27 AM

lovely but some magic lamer will kill everyone :-/

Sparkplug 08-14-2002 05:56 AM

I CANT WAIT!

Flamingblaze 08-14-2002 05:58 AM

for a lamer to ruin it?

brock128 08-14-2002 06:00 AM

Magic will most likely be fixed by the time the tourney rolls around.

Dude6252000 08-14-2002 07:42 AM

To stop a mage, run up to them and chop them to death, and ALWAYS stay near them so their magic can't hit you inless they lure you into it. I figured that out XD

Yes but most of them wear no armor, and are fast as lightning, so you could never actually hit them enough to kill them. They move hella fast and use deadly spells. How is this a fair advantage to a warrior that moves slow and has to hit you about 15 times to kill you?

Not to mention armor doesn't protect against magic, so there is no use in even having it. At least the tournament should be melee vs. melee and mage vs. mage.

warp2ukew 08-14-2002 08:55 AM

Well, you could have picked mage....I signed up and I just got started on 2k2. I need some help though =D ill find out everything soon enough

unixmad 08-14-2002 02:03 PM

I think there is a lot of different solutions to win against a mage or priest:

- You can use potions to heal yourself-
- You can use heal spell (Warriors can use low level spells)
- You can buy some magic protection scroll that will protect against fire...
- You can poison your weapons

If mages are two powerful I will make "a casting time", mages will need some time to prepare the spell before casting it depending on the spell level…

Unix.

To bad potions cost more than the advarage joe, and theres no quickbar to access these potions (unless I am misinformed)
Same goes for that heal spell (you'd have to pull out a staff or something rendering melee useless
and same goes for pretty much for the scrolls

How you poison your weapons?
However I'm sure poison costs alot too

The spells needs to be better localized and put into play
The whole checkerboard deal is terriable
I hope radius and graphics of spells are improved
(also it would be cool if when casting magic missle or fireballs that they start to form from the tip of a players staff and shot out the direction it was pointing then blowup (if not hit a player and blew up then) after a few seconds of flight of course blowing up needs a nice effect too =)

TheFrozenFiend 08-14-2002 04:10 PM

I signed up as an observer.

Ill fight in the next one. I need to do some leveling up first.

EDIT: Oh yeah and its cool how its set up. Not just some random events person saying
"5 seconds to walk to the other side of the map to enter a tournament to win 1 silver coin!"

No way.. it takes long enough to type out /cast whatever (in battle time) anyways. By the time you finish typing out the spell you could already be dead.

My staff "goes poof" when nothing has been cast =P
I'm not gonna buy and 5-time use things.

Also.. do you lose any stats in these tourneys if you die, and when you sign up for a tourney account, do you choose if you want to participate or not, or it automatically puts you in?

Um... isn't that what /bind is supposed to do? I mean, I've never used spells (b/c I don't like being godly powerful against other players) but I thought that's what /bind was for.

Er1c 08-15-2002 02:40 AM

Yes. Say "/bind <key (from 0-9)> send cast <spellname>" and then when you push the key you bound the cast command to, it will set your spell.

Check the 2002 sugestions forum (the only stickied+locked thread) for more info on the bind command.

Jourdan 08-15-2002 06:26 AM

I signed up, but I'm not in a team...??
