Veteran awards

Like in many other online games, I think Graal should have Veteran awards.
After a year of playing players would get a special award on the gold server, just something small and unique for fun, that only veteran players can get.
After two years of playing players would get a more valueble award and so on every year..

i guess that would be pretty awsome, it would probbley giev people a reason to keep playing rofl, but i think a year is a really long time X_x maybe you should do it by hours?

People would idle just to gain hours to get the awards.
Plus, if it takes long to get the award, it makes it better, that's the point :P

hours is the best thing, make it like per 1000 or 1500 hours
im sure staff could figure out if someone is idling or not, and just d/c them

Staff won't check every person online on the game to check if he's idling :/

I don't mean monitor everyone.

What I mean is like when they are playing and they see someone idling.

Of course they won't catch everyone, but why not script something to tell you if someone has been on an excessive amount, such as 18 hours or something of the sort. Use sendtorc to tell them, just a thought.

Maybe, but I still think it shouldn't be hour based, so even people who play 1 hour a day will be able to get the awards :\

Kaimetsu 08-12-2002 08:26 PM

Definitely not hour-based. Hours don't get Stefan and Unix money - statistically a person who plays one hour a day is far preferable to somebody who clogs up the servers for twelve hours at a time. The first person creates less server load and is less likely to get bored of the game before the next time his account runs out.

So yeah, maybe every six months there's some unique hat or something? I dunno. Scripts would need to be able to access account creation dates first.

You can write a script to store the timevar of first logon...you just can't do it retroactively.

I don't even think account creation dates are stored in the accounts database =/

Which, of course, is the problem. I guess it'd just have to start from now instead of extending backwards, but that'd annoy a lot of those who love to call themselves oldbies.

Maybe the first award should be based on hours, and the next awards based on account age (count starts now or after first award).

lol, yeah, I know idiots with 1000+ hours.. they just sit on graal and idle, and cyber and set their nicks to ssjgokux93515supergodsaiyanguy looking for hot g/f to "chat" with. Then they basically sit around annoying people and I highly doubt we want to consider them Veterans.

I have just under 300 hours on my recently-banned account and I've been playing the game for 2+ years... don't make me count down to the day, because I will. :D
