Online time flag?

I think they should add a script variable for online time. On doomsday we have a voting house that was tampered with because trial accounts don't retain the flag, they don't retain online time either so if we had a flag for that it would be handy :)

It would be pretty neat if we could do the same for a players IP.
players[0].ip or something. It would ge good for voting polls and stuff, so people don't vote more than once.

That might present the same problem as keeping an accounts list... lag etc :(

For now you could just script it so only people with a certain amount of hearts can vote, this way players who play the server can still vote once, and the people on trial accounts wouldn't bother doing all of the quests over and over just to tamper with your voting system. Just a suggestion for now.

listen to the man or you could use timevar2 :)

Solution on Classic - put the voting booth several hours past the newbie start. If you play through to the wall boss and all that, you've earned the right to vote again....^^;

You could always have the NPC store a list of voters in its own strings.

Heh, yeah, that's how I scripted the gift giving thing on 2k1 for christmas. It would give out like the same amount of gralats as your AP, and then log your name into the "recieved gift" list. So that you couldn't even reset and get another gift or something, since your accountname stays in the npc.

Babylons voting house stores accounts, and dosent lag.
so it is possible to script this.

what is timevar2?

Admins 08-29-2002 07:07 AM

timevar2 is the seconds since server start, precision is mikro seconds so you can use it for race records etc.

does it constantly update? instead of every 5 seconds like timevar, and whats the lowest part of the number? I think I saw it go to thousandths (like 22311232.333)

He said microseconds, which means to 0.000001 seconds.
