Sorcs and spell damage

I've had it up to HERE *points at tip of horns on helm* with these sorcerors!!!

Walking along, just finished training myself up to a new level, patting myself on the back for these great new stats.... some guy in a blue hat comes up, taps on the keyboard a few times, and before I even know he's a PKer I'm waking up in a bedroom (which is broken, btw, I have to unstick me to get out of the room). "Magic bullet killed Aylad."

Melee fighters who know spells are even worse because I can't even tell whether they're going to fight me or not.

And before all you sorcs start complaining about "well we can't use melee weapons so that's fair," listen up: If I could kill anything on 2k2, in one hit, by typing in "/invoke blah blah" or whatever -- I WOULD SELL MY DIAMOND SWORD first chance I got. Melee weapons are worthless when you can kill in one hit, and both weapons and armor are worthless when the PKer standing offscreen is able to summon the Fist of Whoever from Heaven and squash a warrior like a bug.

This is a "suggestions" forum..... my suggestion? SPELL DAMAGE SHOULD BE AFFECTED BY ARMOR, AND SHOULD BE EQUIVALENT TO MELEE WEAPON DAMAGE.

This one-hit kill thing is the most annoying aspect of 2k2 - much, much worse than the NPC Server crashes, worse than melee-fighter PKing, worse than having to walk for half an hour to get anywhere. Worse than getting stuck on the Western half of the main isle and having to come all the way from Palmaloma after unsticking.

Somebody, please, please do something about this.

And who get's those Pendant on startup? Priests and Mages. Oi, anyway I'd be happy if the magical powers were just toned down, since I'm a Priest of Brigid it dosent effect me.

Sorcerors(not mages) dont get amulets...

I think the reason why sorcerors are overpowered is the fact that you cannot manuver and dodge the spells... because there is no fluent motion of the spell projectile... its is difficult to dodge and the overwhelming damage kills melee class people...

My sudgestion is make the spells have a fluent projectile like motion... therefore the melee class can dodge it... spells would by less powerful in PvP... and the caster classes wouldn't be badly nerfed

they do but a player/monster has to be like so many tiles straight infront of your wand, other wise the spell will
A) Misfire (insta death for you)
B) Shoot off to the side (also sometimes killing you)

Make the damned spells MOVE is all I'm asking. If the thing just lags you have no idea where damage is being done. I can stand on the screen and have some guy use a magic spell halfway down the screen, I see nothing, yet I'm nearly killed.

The spells are all incredibly lagged.. no one sees the actual spell doing anything.. The most I have ever seen is the icestorm or whatever that has the little squares of crap spread out over the entire level.

Here's the number one best thing that can be done with a lot of the spells. Make them slow moving, non laggy, and have most spells directed to a certain area. Such as when you aim your arrow, you should be able to aim the spell to a certain spot and cast it there. I'm doing something like this with Oasis, and it's a heck of a lot better then all the spells just randomly going places or spreading over an entire level.

Yes, certain spells should spread, but things like fireball or burning hands or whatever should be aimed. The spells could be aimed at players, in which some cases, they lock on to the player like a homing missile, or they can just be aimed anywhere, even at the ground or something.

I don't understand this Burning Hands business - it sounds like a melee-attack spell. Like the next person you hit with a melee attack takes fire damage.

Worst of all, these magic users are also warriors with chain mail armor, helms, iron boots etc...

Edit: Also MAGE is a general term to refer to magic users.

mage Pronunciation Key (mj)
n.
A magician or sorcerer.

Robes, cloaks, more hats (not helms hats) should be released

Have cloth be required to make different kind of hats

Also make shops sell magic imbued items ranging from weapons to armor to helmets to hats

Like a Diamond Sword of Giant Strength or something

They need to make spells able to be dodged and spells not do insane ammounts of damage.

YES PLEASE PLEASE

How about an item that has a chance of reflecting spells back at the caster when equipped, so that mages have a change of getting hit by their own spells when they spam magic everywhere.

That would be cool too, but it's not good enough. I want some defense against magic that EVERYONE has (not full immunity, just weaker spells) rather than depending on items you have to pay 4,000 plat for.
