Does anyone have Zsnes? If you do, want to play a game?

EThor 05-23-2001 09:40 AM

I had it...but I lost it :(

WeirdmanI9 05-23-2001 09:42 AM

I used to have zSNES until I go a sucky monitor so I have to re-adjust my screen every time I go into DOS.

SSmutz 05-23-2001 09:42 AM

Znes runs way too slow on my computer, and doesn't support my controller, so I use Snes9x.

Thor, you can get it at www.oneminuteleft.com, Thats where I get all my emulations stuff/

How do you play a game with another person...? I have ZSnes, but I can only play one player... odd.

Zulithe 05-23-2001 09:42 AM

I use ZSNES but I don't have any multiplayer games I don't think... I only have RPGs

Internet play has been for a while. Maybe you need to update your version. all you need to do is get the IP of your opponent.

SSmutz 05-23-2001 09:44 AM

I''l play anyone on snes9x, if you have it. I'm bored.

EThor 05-23-2001 09:49 AM

Thanks SSMutz, I'll get it..

ZSnes.

Spyder5782 05-23-2001 09:56 AM

IM guessign Zsnes because its better overall. But in some cases, like ssmutz's i guess snes9x works the best

EThor 05-23-2001 10:11 AM

Ha. Book reports are hell.

EThor 05-23-2001 10:15 AM

Yes....

but its my last one of the year!

EThor 05-23-2001 10:21 AM

Bah, screw it. I'm doing my report tomorrow. I can't remember what format I'm supposed to do it in...

IceHawk 05-23-2001 10:23 AM

DOS and Win 2000 do not mix

I stopped doing book reports in 6th grade... you still are assigned to do them?

I just do portfolio works now, and no, they are not the same thing.

They still assign them for us....it really bites....

Hawk 05-23-2001 10:36 AM

ZSnes rocks.

bb2k1 05-23-2001 10:39 AM

Seesh, I suggest you people bookmark zophar.net and check ZSnes versions as soon as they come out. Get the latest WINDOWS Zsnes to play multiplayer.
ZSnes's graphics renderer is faster than Snes9x's because it's written in assembley. I suggest trying Zsnes again and setting the video options to run it quickly as it kicks major ass! (I beat Secret of Mana over the internet with a friend :) )

G_yoshi 05-23-2001 11:30 AM

ZSNES for windows is much better than for DOS or snes9x........dont know why you people stick with the dos version......windows version is faster and supports stuff better especially usb controllers :D

can go in fullscreen mode......ZSNES > SNES9x.......

zsnes supports the most features....practiacally all snes features...there are some they are still working on i think......gfx and snd are top notch!

FatherDante 05-23-2001 11:32 AM

BS, Yoshi, the DOS version is superior, unless you want to utilize the USB ports or can't handle the interface.

EThor 05-23-2001 11:36 AM

What's your favorite RPG on Zsnes?

Chrono Trigger
Super Mario RPG
Breath of Fire 1
Breath of Fire 2
EarthBound
IF you choose Super Mario RPG, do you have a ROM of it that doesn't have the blue flashes every once and awhile? (Free of glitches)

G_yoshi 05-23-2001 11:40 AM

dos zsnes=crap

using dx for zsnes is better......i get faster graphics with no frame skipping......

keep in mind......i use a laptop for my computing enjoyment.....usb is a must......

the dos zsnes is nice.....its where i started with it...but its easier to use in windows and its faster :D

vesa drivers for a laptop display are hard to get or find for that matter. Its a lot of hassle to use the dos one.....especially for net play because dos is not a multi-tasking environment

FatherDante 05-23-2001 11:50 AM

Well, I didn't think of it. For a notebook, you're probably right. But in my experience, DOS is better for desktop use at least.

G_yoshi 05-23-2001 11:54 AM

:D my point exactly.......

also keep in mind of the memory ristrictions in dos....though you can configure a .pif to automatically adjust what it needs

Zulithe 05-23-2001 11:58 AM

Zsnes will soon emulate Star Ocean, can't wait!
