Saying "bomb" on the phone now makes you a terrorist.
I find it hard to believe, but every single telephone call you make is being taped by a secret government society that is trying to prevent bombings etc. Really. They have a big bunch of sattelite dishes that record EVERY phonecall made in the world. If they hear the word "bomb" or "explode" or "canned sardines" in your telephone call, they'll mark you down as a pottentional terrorist. (I swear I'm not making this up.) So, just a warning for the future incase you ever make a phonecall again.

I'm going to phone everyone I know and start talking about the oklahoma city bomber, how stuff is "the bomb", and how last week's show bombed!
|
It's called Project Echelon.
|
Hasn't that been around for ages? They scan emails and the like too, and either England or America (I forget which) has a big thingy set up called "Echelon" for this very purpose. Personally it doesn't bother me - I don't have anything to hide.
|
is there any documentation of this on the internet somewhere? how did you find out about this? i don't find it that hard to believe.

if i found actual proof that a conversation of mine was being recorded i would sue for civil rights violations. actually, i probably wouldn't, too lazy to go through the process. but i would deffinetly (sp?) be outraged, and purposely make a phone call saying i am going to bomb washington or something, just to get them on my case. |
JUST BECAUSE YOUR NOT PARINORD IT DONT MEAN THERE NOT WATCHING YOU!!!
|
Haha, actually if you were talking about doughnuts, they would care... A LOT

I love that movie :) :) |
People are missing the point. If they do monitor calls then they can help save lives with the information from that. Oh, so somebody will know that you phoned "Mike" at 11am and asked if he wanted to go see a movie? So what? You think they'll remember for even a few seconds afterwards? You might as well sue someone for overhearing your conversation on the street.

They have over 100 supercomputers dedicated to the task.

"Hey, 'Fred', you sent me one too few 'spanners', so now I can't make my 'car' in my completely 'legal' 'garage'. Please send them on the next 'mail' and only then can I 'thank' you." |
Rest assured, friends, this is completely untrue. :)
The so called "project" echelon is a misguided referrence to a top of the line e-mail scanning program called Echelon developed by the UK and the US for e-mail security, and I think some kind of tax-evasion detection (don't ask me how they do that...) But they are not tapping your phone calls, and you can not be arrested only on the basis of words in a telephone conversation. Vermain, don't fall for the hysteria. |

I'd rather the government examine my testicles than I die from a disease. Obviously, the government knows when it's in the best interest to mandate the examination of my testicles.
|
I really don't need to hear this
|
what's wrong with talking about Dante's testicles? Watch this thread get deleted now. lol.
|
It's true there was a story in the newspaper a mother was talking to another mother and said something like "My son is going to bomb the school test". The police came I believe. Something like that.
