Bring Back The Red Balloon
 

Do any of you guys remember way back when? Their used to be a red ballon that would go in different places of graal2001? When ever you touched it it would give you a heft amount of cash (bak then) 1g!
I never see it on any more or have they taken it out? That was really neet to see it

It was a balloon that floated around and gave you a gralat if you found it.

I miss that game with the golden ball.... It'd always get stuck on trees, too. Maybe the balloon *cough* popped and *cough* fell into the *cough* water at the *cough* corner of the *cough* map. I HAVE A COLD. ;);)

Stefan's is better, so unixmad is improving more than Stefan is. Stefan already knows much English, and he doesn't have that much more to learn. Unixmad, on the other hand, uses words like staffs and peoples when they aren't supposed to be used. God knows they both have better English skills than a lot of people that post here.... At least S and U know the difference between "your" and "you're." ;)

I heard somewhere that neither of them speaks the other's native language. So they communicate in English :)

Here's why Stefan's English is better than Stéphane's:


English and German are both languages of the Germanic family, as I recall. Stefan is from Germany and thus would pick it up a bit quicker than someone whose primarly language is French, a Romance language more like Latin or Spanish.

I loved the red balloon, I touched it about 3 times, got a total of 4 gralats :)

And when loriel was there they all spoke in english to one another (Now that would have been funny to see) though I am sure if it was just loriel and stefan talking, they spoke in german.

one speaks french and one speaks german, and the rest of the home team speaks french, so im sure its hectic. i know when stefan and garel talk to each other its in german, but if you take a first year german class you can easily pick up what they are saying, but reading german is harder than hearing german

No, I dont think so. English, French, and Spanish are all derived from Latin, where german isnt. English has very little, if any, German words or cognates, where Spanish and French do. So BLAH!


Anyways, i think the reason there ever was a balloon was to give players money to start off with, since it was impossible to get ANY kind of job on G2k1 without money when it first started (if you were human)
