www.graalonline.com down?
What is going on? Is it just me or is www.graalonline.com down? Graal will not connect. Can someone tell me what is going on?

it isn't completelly down, I can still connect using an old version of rc with the server and port (server has to be the ip address) the server list is down if anything

Phantasm sez:
Find a file named hosts in your windows (or winnt) directory - it contains a list of saved DNS entries, basically. Since the DNS is down, it can't match an IP to an address - pasting this text into the file will fix that.
NPC Code: Save it (no extention!) and restart Graal. Enjoy. (This fix courtesy of Phantasm/RobinX) |
make sure you dont just put that in Hosts.sam thats just a sample, i made this script to be made as your official hosts file, or an addition to your current one, if you put it in host.sam delete the .sam and your set
|
Very nice. Good job.

For the lazy ones:
just extract this into your windows folder =P I always knew it had something to do with the hosts file.. but i always used the wrong extension >.< |
What's the worst that could happen if I screw up somehow?
|
yeah it was making me mad too I thought it was going to work, then i realised i was putting it in .sam and that was a sample, so i took out the extenion and it worked
|
nothing can happen bad, if you mess up no big deal, it wont hurt you or your computer nor graal
|
Well, this didn't work for me. Does it go directly in the WINDOWS folder in winXP?
|
yes make sure it goes into your windows folder, and make sure it doesnt have a file extension
|
Elite. Thanks guys.
|
For Windows XP the directory for hosts is: WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\etc
|
oh my bad, sorry i use 98SE =(
Yeah, your welcome |
hey
suppose down the line, they decide to move the location of the actual servers to somewhere else...this will change their ip number, will it not (since IP, i belive, is based on location)? That would mean...anyone who created that file and forgot about it..would not be able to log onto graal unless it was deleted?
|
then if it doesnt work, delete it
theyd probibly remember if they post on the forum or something, but you can always delete it after this shutdown is over |
Its being hacked and I know who is doing it
|
Thank you for informing us you know, And I guess I am suppose to read your mind over my internet telepathy to get the answer right?
