I am getting Windows XP in a couple of days too so if anyone knows any tips of how to get the best performance on XP while playing Graal, listening to music and other things, please post them here so I know what to do when I get XP in a couple of days.

How much RAM do you have?

FFusion 06-14-2002 02:36 AM

Try..
f1->general options->audio
and turn off graals music stuff so you will be able to listen to your music. i think graal might be trying to play the midis and stuff thru your winamp?

yeah. close the programs that you dont intend on using. lots of memory and whatnot.

ZanderX 06-14-2002 03:42 AM

You're the only person I know of who has this problem, Spanky. :(

Tom84710 06-14-2002 04:32 AM

Windows Media Player.

luigi22 06-14-2002 06:30 AM

media player used to mess my graal up before, if i didn't open it before i opened graal

When my microphone is on for Graal, I can't use winamp. It says the sound card is already in use, but I don't mind. I barely use the mic.

Kamuii I clicked your "buy me this" link and bought you a cd but it turns out there was an error in the shipment and you will be recieving the hit soundtrack from the cartoon "Hello Kitty" sung by none other then Hanson!

HoudiniMan 06-14-2002 07:54 AM

Make sure you've turned off the "play music in winamp" option... Nobody mentioned it and you didn't say you did... i mean duh...

Graal takes less than 60% for me.

Then again, I have 256 megs of ram, so :P

Domini 06-14-2002 10:12 PM

It uses 90 of mine, and I have 1024 megs of ram.

:(

Tom84710 06-14-2002 10:18 PM

Gah, Windows Media Player is great. What other features do you need, geez. You play music, you listen. :)

It's too damn big. Winamp has super mini mode.

Even if you use a small skin you always have that damn big box in the corner of the screen.

1) Is really quite bad, and the skin idea is a ripoff of winamp

2) Can be used to infect your computer with virii very easily

3) Microsoft product. Need I say more?

I guess people must have crappy computers or something, I just keep it minimized and let it play. It doesn't lag me or anything. I could care less if someone wanted to infect my computer, I have my whole harddrive backed up. People bash Microsoft and yet they use WindowsXP, etc, etc, quite stupid.

I wouldn't say that. They are alright, but I wouldn't bash them and say their product is bad just because it is made by Microsoft.
