Another Annoying New Playerworld in Progress- Utopia
 

Originally, I was going to make a playerworld with a real life friend of mine, but after a while, he backed out, mocking me that I would never be able to finish it. With the pride I have, I couldn't accept his mockery, so I'm finishing it, and refusing to give up on it. Anyhow, I have already made a new tileset for it, which is yet to be perfected, and a city, Which i just call Utopia. The world is divided into several parts, which I will name West Utopia, South Utopia, South Central Utopia, ect... Also, i'm planning to have quite a few things before I submit it, like hats, quite a few quests, pets, and all that other fun stuff. Anyhow, now the part you've all come here for... screenshosts!

- The First Utopian National Bank! Here, we'll have an interest rate, which wont depend on real time, but the player's online time... we'll also just plainly have ATM rooms in it. Otherwise, a buildings a building Xx.

- A little shrine for myself, but I could easily imagine it for a place for people to talk and chat... all while subconciously being manipulated to pledge their allegance to their almighty dictator! :D

Well, thats basicly it. The reason I call it Utopia is because after I made the tileset and replaced pics1.png with it, and played on a lot of the other playerworlds to see how it would look, Utopia just kept coming to mind because of the nice vibrant colors. Then I thought, 'Hey, Utopia would be a much cooler than than "Project WP".' :)

Well, now, you can either a few things things:
1) Critisize
2) Ask Questions
3) Suggest Ideas
4) Beg to be staff because it's just so dang hard to find good help these days. :p

I have a feeling your little hovercar is just a horse.........
Tileset is horrid, It kills me too look at it.
Ideas Are nice.

some stuff is pretty cool. At LEAST he is a pw actually showing screenshots. Most playerworlds just say its being created , or its been in creation for over 2 years and then they have no screen shots.

And at least it's not some noob saying
"Hye i am mkain a playrewrold adn i wnat stfaf and sum1 2 gimme level and npc kthxbye."

The tileset could use some work, but I think it could turn out fine with some things fixed up a little.

annoying, yes. tolerable, no. the colors are too "vibrant" and bright for me, I'd go blind.

I made the colors vibrant so that it would be more like some game on SNES, seeing as there is a limited, but reasonable, number of allowed colors. Heck, I can't say I DIDN'T want it to be cartoony; I did it on purpose... more fun that way... :p

I like the palm trees... they may not look good with screenshots but they are pretty cool to ahve around in gameplay. Gives a variety of plant life.

Would you mind telling me which part of the tileset needs work? Cause I designed it for my own perferences, while still needed outside input. Also, here are a few other ideas i have:

- If three people push or pull a table in the same direction, the table will move a square in that direction... sounds like fun so far, right? Also, I will assign certain people to be the clean up crew, giving them powers- only when they have their tag on- to be able to push/pull it back to the origional spot on their own. Any finding of people like this ruining other people's fun will be warned and treated as staff. Just imagine, three people baracading a door to keep the building to themselves. :D

- Universal Bar Tender tags. Anyone with a tag like (Bar Tender) will be able serve in any federal bar- meaning, discluding guildhouses with bars- across Utopia.

- Like a democracy, I'll build up a congress like group of people, and any new ideas entering Utopia will have to be approved by a 2/3rds vote. Of course, me being the dictator guy, I'll be able to veto any idea. :D Gotta love democracy... of course, PKing WILL be allowed and encouraged!

- As previously mentioned, and interest rate for money.

- Instead of a warp ring, we'll have... a warp watch! :megaeek:

Ughh... I just noticed something on these forums while searching under the word Utopia. Apparently, some guy already has that name for his playerworld, but all those posts date back to 2001... Does anyone know if he's still making it?

He stopped working on it when graal went all p2p, he didn't want to have to pay $15 to play on his own creation if it got up.
But I think he found a friend's account to play on, and is working on it again(Although all by himself, last I heard.).

nope its not being worked on anymore his name was Knuckles he came on a server i was working on ( i cant remember which one it was) and said that we stole it or something because we had the same name then he quit graal or something like that, u should be fine

That "hover car" looks ALOT like the Ghost vehicule (hover bike thingy) on Halo.

and it is =P
but since it's not stealin a copyrighted image but only an idea, it's not illegal. it's also quite so because i can also claim in court that i had the idea in my mind as well... also the color values aren't the same :D

Your hovercar is a rip from Halo (its a Ghost) so I don't think Bungie would be very pleased with it

(you can say its enspired by it, but take a look at the Gremlin issue with those Furby pets. the makers of Gremlins sued them becasue their toy looked alot like Gizmo).

Other than that it looks.... unique, well the graphics are anyhow, but Its not really all that pretty.

Hey, i just thought of a new wacky idea!
- You can pick up other players if they're not moving and carry them around until they say like a specific word... lol. Just imagine what problems that would solve with people blocking an entrance or someone who just refuses to move... i can just imagine it now...

The tileset is oddly pleasing.

What would be awesome would be if it was possible to take players and be able to pick them up and throw them and cause damage. Then you would have Graal wrestling. Pick people up and BOOM!!!

i like how it all matches, and isnt 2002 palm trees on 2001 tile set.

i made thos palm tree gfx on my own only for utopia

and Xbob, thats the part i left out.. if you throw them against a wall they lose 1 heart =)

They aren't really that bad, except when they form masses together, it feels like your staring at the sun or something.

I think it's nice, it looks pretty fun too.

No offense or anything, but they are like pretty bright, so when they are in big chunks it's like super duper bright.

hmm... are you sure that your moniter's brightness is correct, cuz the only color value change really between this and the origional tiles is saturation

new palm tree graphic and i personally think it looks 10x better than that old crap =P
