server/guild options
it would be nice if we could toggle the option for guilds on our servers. you can either allow players to use their guild tags on the server or they can use specially made ones that only this server allows.
also, if there was a way to limit what characters the player could use in their nickname and words. for example, you could block vulgar curse words, obscenities and non-roleplaying entities. this would make the RP atmosphere on a lot of servers better. |
if you have an npc server, an npc can be made to make sure you can't use a guild name, just have an npc check for the strlen of #g and if its >0, setplayerprop #g,;

All of that is easily scripted.. no need to have special options for it.. that's basic gscripting there. I know of profanity blocking npcs that have been made before.. but I think it would be so much better if it actually edited your sentence instead of just replacing it with "YOU ARE USING PROFANITY!" when you say "Shut up *******" it would say "Shut up !@$%!*#" just replacing the profanity with random symbols.
I think it would work a lot better that way.. I mean people can use profanity any way you try to avoide it for the most part.. if it isn't: @$$ it's: /-\55 I mean there is a million ways to type a curseword. But yeah.. all that stuff you mentioned can be easily put into a system npc. |
itd take a while to block out every way you could type ass...

If you want to block words from nicks, have staff do it with an NPC. A "control <command> <account> <params>" sort of thing, which any competent serverside scripter can do by several means.
