Mine Police?

there should be mine Police who can jail people in a mine jail, if they see someone stealing anothers rocks not being reported only jailed for a short time but there minerals should be taken away.. i know stealing is part of rping but it is really not fair if everyone steals it makes the game not fun.. it would put people off stealing..

Just make people drop any rocks they didn't earn when they die. Problem solved.

uhm, so we are going to cry over fake rocks? no, i dont think we will have any type of police for "events" persay. though i would like a guard system for each town, with like 1 or 2 guards to patrol and such.

Mine police would be a good idea though they would in essence be self proclaimed mine police, basically vigilante's
but im glad people are taking it upon themselves to create RPing ideas, rather than complaining about not RPing, when no one but themselves can force them to RP. Also in February when the preview was out Fry let me be a mine police, and I was walking on the raised parts of the walls wielding my mighty naganita and telling people to be nice polite little minters :P

I think its your fault that your rocks get stolen, you should wait till the area clears.

feivel 05-22-2002 05:37 AM

I think its your fault if you get mugged dowtown. You should have waited till no one was outside and ran really quickly. Come on what do you think police are for??? It doesnt matter whether or not its your fault, the Law Enforcement is there to stop crimes.

...except the genre and the setup doesn't support it, so let's set it up so players can take law into their own hands. Everything you steal will be dropped if you log off or die within half an hour of stealing it, or so. Then, once players can PK each other, they'll be able to take back stolen rocks by killing the robber.

Better idea. The mines right now is really small. Its nearly impossible to find rocks that arnt already being mined. Make the mines alot bigger like on g2k1 so players can spread out deep into the mines and be left alone. Also perhaps you could consider an owner tag for the first person to hit the rock. If they stop hitting for 10 seconds or more then the rock goes into a no owner status in which any one can mine it.

Gambit2099 05-23-2002 02:17 AM

It's not possible for someone to steal your rocks if you hit it first. Everytime that I hit first and someone tries to steal it the mineral is still added to my items. Just like if I hit 2nd the mineral always went to the other person's items. Most of you are just whining about nothing. It's not stealing because they hit it before you, if you wanted it then you should have hauled ass to get there before the other person, you CANNOT whine about someone getting the mineral before you.

..and jail...over minerals that are all over the cave...please.

draygin 05-23-2002 02:59 AM

Actually it doesnt matter who hits it first. It matters who hits it last. ;) Also Last time I was there they werent every where. There was over 20 people in a small area where the rocks werent that common. Unless they changed it. Which is why I suggested making a massive cave system like on g2k1 and just add the tag owner. That would solve all the problems.

Having actually tried some mining, I have the following to say.

1) The rock goes to whoever hit it THE MOST, assuming they are still in the level. If they are not/log off at the last second, then it's freed up. If it's hardcoded to who hit it last, then whoever hits it the most is the only person who can deliver the last hit.
2) The mines should grow...everything on G2K1 should grow and mutate, IMHO. Players should be able to dig into the solid wall with their pickaxes until passageways open up, use boards to reinforce it every 20 tiles, buy lights for the deeper recesses...and to keep it from expanding to the point that all of the underground is opened up into one huge square arena, have timbers rot a week or so after their placed so walls cave in in the less reinforced areas, encouraging narrow, winding paths.

Not easy, but man would that be cool.

I been mining too.

At first I did think it was who hit it most.

But after a while I noticed that even if I started before somebody else came along and started picking at the rock. they still got the mineral sometiems instead of me. even though I started first and kept on the swingin.
