Problems with windows xp?

Ok im sorta wondering.Have any of yall ever like been laggy after instaling windows xp on your computer.I mean like laggy on graal only.This happend to me before but then went away then I had to reinstal and now im back to being laggy.

I had lag problems with my Graal, and then my cousin did something with Direct3d, and it ran perfectly "lag-less"

In other words, mabye a problem with Direct3d

AH HA! I figured it out you must update your video card drivers to be able to be lag less but I still dont see why

Run in compatability mode for Win98/ME, that removes lag

XP is neato but like it will freeze in games such as CS,FA,HL

I have Windows ME. I should upgrade but I dont want to lose game compatibility :(
