Lag, there goes the server.

About 120 people were on causing the NPCServer on 2K2 to crash.

Mr. Bear 05-21-2002 02:45 AM

Yep.
Or it was godspeed again. (Just Kidding Godspeed)

Sir_Gareth 05-21-2002 02:48 AM

Tell EVERYONE,
NOT TO FART AT THE SAME TIME USE BEANO.

Brad 05-21-2002 02:48 AM

If 120 people on the server caused it to crash, 2k2 is doomed.

Wasnt only that its also all the scripts and all the stuff on the NPC server, plus the terrain gerated levels and stuff, Graal2002 is much different than any other playerworld It wasnt only the players that made it to crash.

I am not trying to be harsh, but there should be a limit as to how many people from Classic go onto the server. The reason is, most of them (not all) complain about the server being really crappy and how there is nothing to do (when it's in Alpha anyways) and we don't need them around.

AlkarenHyralt 05-21-2002 02:58 AM

Was too laggy for me, so I signed off before the crash.

YOU CAN'T BLAME ME NOW HAHAHAHAH *gets hit by a train*

Jeff:

I think you can load multiple NPC servers. I think maybe there should be 3 or 4 on graal2002.

Of course it is going to be fixed not to do that again.

God's punishment. Trains randomly hit me, and chase me :(

Firedemon_504 05-21-2002 03:11 AM

People shouldn't be allowed on as ghoust. This would stop some lag.

Tyhm 05-21-2002 03:35 AM

Don't be an elitist twit, if the people who played Classic paid to play it they should be alowed to.

Xerphier Dintch 05-21-2002 03:37 AM

If 120 people crashed the server then there should be a player limit until this is fixed.

Well, earlier fools came on massing non stop about n pulse and classic for life and 2k2 sucks yet they were on for hours...

Er1c 05-21-2002 03:42 AM

What caused it to crash was probably one or more testing NPCs that use "with (allplayers[index])" that we forgot to remove... when many people came onto the server, it looped through all of them and just couldn't handle it.

And disabling ghosts wouldn't help, they don't send or recieve much information with the server.

90% of them are there to complain. You can tell who is from Classic and who isn't from
a) Their extremely insane long name
b) The overuse of ASCII text in their name

We don't need people complaining about a server just because they won't be able to play it later on. I agee, there are some people who are there that just want to play, but unfortunately the others have to ruin it for them.

Gangster88 05-21-2002 03:47 AM

I finnaly get a chance to get on for like 30 min and the npc server is down :(:(:(
