The Baddy of Invulnerability
1 Attachment(s)
Umm...yeah...for some reason when I put on the Baddy skin, I become invulnerable. Chopped it all the way down to just being a simple replaceani, still nothing - baddies hurt, bushes hurt, arrows hurt, players and swords go right through me. It's weird.
|
Nothing strange happens for me when doing
replaceani idle,cn_baddyidle; Is it only online, or offline too, and what does happen then? |
Only online...other players' swords go right through me. Kinda weird. I guess I'll keep tinkering until I can find the cause...
|
do you have gold ap?=P
|
0 AP.
Com013 says he knows exactly what's causing it, and for some reason he's convinced it's broken offline too - though how he can be hit with another player's sword in offline mode is quite beyond me. However, he refuses to tell me, and will only tell Stefan if he replies to his email personally. Whatever. |

just wanted to make sure... sounded alot like gold ap restrictions or no pk zone to me=D

Come to think of it, I think it might be caused by replacing the hurt animation, just like that it is (or used to be) impossible to carry something while the carry animation was changed.
Of course that would be fixable by completely customly rescripting it all, but that's a pain. |
uhm then why would everything else but players still hurt?

Posting for Com013
Sucks not being able to post in the forums on my own =_=.
Yakuna, are you a bit stupid? Do you think banning my inactive trial account will make me tell Tyhm what's the problem? And I guessed that Stefan ignored the e-mail I sent to him and that made me angry - but maybe the e-mail got lost again and Stefan never recieved it :(. Here's how I can (not) be hit offline, too: put an NPC in the level and make it use the cn_sword.gani at you (that's the sword GAni for the Classic nations). Graal does only recognise the default sword GAni and the current replace for it. eg.: you are using "replaceani sword,cn_sword;", so your player can only be hit by players who are using either the sword.gani or the cn_sword.gani. On classic all the players are normally using the cn_sword, but as soon as you did "replaceani sword,cn_baddysword;" the game won't know that cn_sword is a sword animation (it could be some normal animation like skip.gani). This could be solved by extending the replaceani command, so you can set alternative GAnis, too. Example: replaceani sword,cn_baddysword,cn_sword; Then the game would use the cn_baddysword as soon as you pressed 'S', but it would still recognise cn_sword. Another (safer against hackers) way would be adding a new line to the serveroptions like "swords=". All the GAnis after this line should always be recognised as sword animations. (Eg.: "swords=sword,cn_sword,cn_baddysword") Similiar problems are happening with idle, walk and hurt which are not normal GAnis, too. idle, walk - needs to be fixed so the arrows would be reflected (L2 shield) on all the clients hurt - so the players/NPCs blink By giving this to Tyhm I've done something I didn't want to do. I wanted to refuse to help Graal until I get something in return for my work. I spent lots of time and money working for Graal (Yeah, money, too. My phone bill was lots higher concerning the internet providers then before I worked for Graal). What was the thanks I got for it? I've even got to pay for it while other people are getting money for my work! After this I (who created the MiniGameSystem -something like a GameBoy- on Classic) left Graal until I get an upgrade for the time I am working for Graal. Tyhm is trying to help me with this, but after he had no success after a month I tried to contact Unixmad/Stefan personally, but it looks like both e-mails got ignored/lost. Goodbye Com013 [edited at poster's request] |
*nevermind, Com was right, I wasn't hitting them*
|
the ban him thing was JOKE never mind. lots of people put efforst time and money into graal, we dotn get free accoutns, if he give su one, we all get one, so ehs not gonna, buy one or quit.
|
Sounds fun.

That sword thing doesn't sound easily solvable

V-I-C-T-O-R-Y
I just set it to not replaceani, and if sword setani cn_sword - an oldschool replaceani - now it works fine. ^^

:(
I know who Com013 is, he probably is one of the best scripters I've seen, I agree, he should get a free upgrade aslong as he is staff.
I LUV HIM :) |
Posting for Com013 again
Ok, here's an easier solution to the problem:
The animation of the player will be saved as "display:action". So if you'd do "replaceani sword,cn_baddysword;" the animation of the player will be set to "cn_baddysword:sword" when the player used the sword (same for other default ganis, too). The gani in front of the colon will be displayed, the name after the colon will be used for the actions (like being hit by the sword, reflecting arrows...). I think this should also solve the problem that you can't slay bushes with a replaced spin/ridesword. And it would be usefull for races for NPCs. So you could do "setcharani cn_baddysword:sword;" to use a different sword animation for the NPC. An other problem is happing in connection with "showcharacter". Instead of setting the animation to "idle", it is set to the current replacement for idle. So if I enter a level while using the torch/being a rat, all the NPCs are using the torch/are rats. |
