HAHAHA, Classic LAT isn't hiring.

It lacks Floydian-innovation. :megaeek:

Its a bit...lacking in...intrest points, and at first look...confusing, but then it kinda gets...boaring.
Usually the carpet/floor of a building isn't supposed to overpower the objects, it's there to act as a background.
People are only seeing the carpet and it seems like the tables and stuff arent even there because the carpet diverts your attentiaon avay from it.
Sorry, but I think it needs something that will catch the eye, and more stuff to cover up the overpowering carpet...

I was wrong? Okay...

And instead of telling you it sucks, here's the list:

1. Don't have overlapping tiles from different "sets"; it doesn't end well.
2. Try playing around with castle/snow castle tiles rather than the ugly gray castle tiles.
3. Tiling LAT requirement has usually been THREE levels. That's just one. Don't spend too much time tiling ONE level. :megaeek:

Again, you seem to be missing a bit of logic. I believe you mentioned you have spent quite a bit of time tiling this level. What I am attempting to suggest is the fact that you should spend less time on one level and more time on all three levels. Does that make it easier to comprehend?

Sir Kwang 05-18-2002 12:11 PM

Im gonna spend quite a bit of time on all three levels or just make a whole bunch then pick the best three and store them somewhere.

Despite the fact that I might apparently be "wrong" again, I am going to take a shot in the dark and say that was a full-sized level. It's good to make full-sized levels for outside areas, but not inside. It leaves you with extra room you would be tempted to fill in by less-than-creative tiling, or creatively crappy tiling. Trying doing 1/4 to half the size of a 0-64 level, and stick a theme to it so it's easier to keep track (bar, shop, arena, quest, et cetera) :megaeek:

Okie, here's a few things I found didn't look that good:

1) The yellow carpet at the top. It looks too out of place in the level.

2) The floor. Too many colours in it. It'd look better if you took out the blue, because then you'd have the red and square things, or take out the square things.

3) The pillars. They don't fit, whatsoever. And there's a bit too many of them, and the lamps.

Also, the bookcases look a bit out of place, and where the floor changes into the red/blue tiles, it isn't a very good merge.

Other than that, it's ok.

Only problems I have with it are the square borders you tried to do in pattern...looks out of place, especially when it merges with the carpet. Also the doors look kind of weird, although it is default. Other than that, it looks like a good inside level. But what's the theme? A mess hall?

Sir Kwang 05-18-2002 01:02 PM

yea kinda

Wow. That's MUCH better. Although, there's still a few things to nit-pick, so here I go...

1) The yellow carpet. Still with it, eh? well, it's ok. I've never really liked it though, it's too much of a harsh blend.

2) The pillars. There's less of them, which is better, but I still believe that the ones that are right next to the chairs should be moved back a bit. Would you have a pillar right behind a chair?

Um, yeah. That's it. Nice touch with the border floor around the barrels, by the way. :)

First of all, the bookcases seem very out-of-place and the doors are tile-errored. Other than that I can find no disturbing tile-errors. The design is kind of uninteresting and reminds me too much of old Graal.

But keep it up. :)

Sorry, I didn't see te second attachement, it looks much better but there is still room for improvement.

Kwangypoo, DONT MAKE SQUARE LEVELS! THEY ARE BORING! and, fix the door... how it goes down, raise it up onto the wall (the lower door) but yea, good job.

Pith 05-19-2002 11:10 AM

cant do that or you cant go through the door, and be realistic, rooms in real life are square/rectangular and look fine =p
