New Classic Time System
No offence to you Tyhm, are you severily disabled?
U should make the night on the day night system BRIGHTER, LIEK WTF? I got it, and its cool, with the snow and stuff, but x.x;; The night it too dark even with the flashlight x.x;; make it brighter. And make it so everyone gets it, and that the time will count down even when paused, and that its in sync so everyone gets the pitch black at the same time :P |
lol, thats the problem with non NPC Server scripting :D

Which has the exact same problems. (timevar is only send once on serverlist connection, then the client just adds to it every 5 seconds.) |

That is the not being completely synch thing, as well as the "Being paused means time don't advance" thing. I haven't actually checked it out though, so time might really not be advancing when you're paused there. |
But they are synced, even if you pause. Timevar changes when you're paused, even if seteffect changes don't happen.
|
nope
Kai, I tested it, it doesn't go up when paused, I stayed paused for 15 minutes, and checked and the time did nothing. And as for the SYNC , ppl were at morning, in the summer, when I was Night in the "spring".
|
Did you test it online?

Tyhm will probably get around to fixing it when he gets back on Friday.
I've gotten reports of other problems too, usually something about their entire screen going black (not seteffect, just...black). The usual remedy is to just turn off direct3D option and reconnect. Or just delete the clock altogether. As of now, the clock's dusk IS horrible. If you walk out into worldmap areas at around 0200, you can't see ANYTHING, not even with the field of vision, as mentioned. On top of that, it's not a standard/starting weapon (still considered as a "secret" item, hidden in Ebon's keep), so you'll probably get attacked and not be able to see where it's coming from or defend yourself when you are "outside." Dusk usually lasts from late 1900 to 0700 (I think), so that's a lot of time to wait for it to go away... |
Quick fix
Quick fix for clock system on Classic. This one slipped my mind, but my brother reminded me. Just use the alt-8 zoom to disable the seteffect so you can see during "nighttime."
|
Heh. That's WHY it's a secret weapon. Bugs like this. =_=
