you can't expect people to automatically know how to RP because they were playing an Online Adventure game.

Oh I'm so sorry Valder, that we aren't as perfect as you
You see, when I go online, I want to role-play. Apparently, it's quite difficult to do so when there is no one to role-play with. It's also quite unfortunate that Dustari is the only active kingdom/RP guild and because this is true, people have no option but to join our kingdom, because they want to role-play as well. |
Its not that hard to RP :(:(

DEAR GOD! this went on too long! i CAN RP, i think the matter here is is that i ask 'noobish' questions that no one wants to take time to explain! ack

What the hell? Would you kindly like for me to point out other kingdoms' flaws while we are doing Dustari's?
The thing is, most non-Dustarians say "OMG DUSTARI AR P'S TERRIBELLY TEHY SUX AT IT" but the other kingdoms act like cowards and they don't recruit. The primary objective of a kingdom is to get citizens so they can serve the kingdom's common purpose/goal. If we restrict role-playing to those who know it, then we'd have a small community which would make for bad RP'ing. Just look at how armies operate today. If the US army recruited only trained and well disciplined soldiers you'd have a hard time finding them. Instead, they have a thing called BOOT CAMP which helps people learn how to role-play (Squires and Soldiers in Dustari). And reading an essay on role-playing helps, but it doesn't fully equip them with the knowledge of RP. There is such a thing called EXPERIENCE you know, you need it to get a better understanding. How can you expect to master something, like playing the guitar or the piano, maybe doing some hard math problems when you just watch, and not actually do it. So lay off of Dustari, because if you don't I can always post other little dirty things other kingdoms do and say that would make them look just as bad. You don't have to take your frustration out just that we are bigger than you on some peoples skills. Flaming won't change any policies. |

I always tried to help people to RP as best I could, even though I'm not on much anymore. :(
But some people just refuse to be helped. Henry knows where I'm going with this, because of that little tirade I had going before. But honestly, I agree to some extent with the people who say we let too many people in, who can't RP. And before you jump to conclusions, let me explain something. I'm all for teaching people who want to RP how to RP. I'd gladly help with that process, tiring as it may be. But I just don't want to see the people who refuse to make an effort to at least try and learn to RP in Dustari. I mean, we should give them a period of time before we haul them out, to see if they show any signs of making progress, or something like that. I'm sick of having to explain to people that you use the mun bubbles out of character, and speak normally in character countless times, and still have to tell those same people months later. It's really very irritating. :( That is all. |
