People can set accounts without the right....

Well, People without the 'changestaffaccounts' right can set their own account. This can cause problems because they can change there pass... Some may say this is good if someone knows it and you want it changed because there is no one else on... Well, some people have stupid passwords like RaWr or ircool.... But, the pass should have letters(Caps and small) and letters.

So, what im saying is tht if they don't have the right, thy shouldn't be able to change the pass... Unless, you somehow make it so that when you set the account, you can have an option to change the pass, or not, and if you do, a window comes up with the pass, and a box below, you enter the number, and click save or somthing... :megaeek:

Jagen:
I see that as a plus more than a minus, it can give the player a little security that the owners or admins don't know there password...
Also, a strange thing, RCs without the disconnect right can disconenct themselves :megaeek:

mikepg 04-22-2002 12:04 AM

umm

What would you need to disconnect yourself for? Just log off, lol.

zell12 04-22-2002 12:17 AM

what you don't see is that they shouldn't be able to set their account, because if they set it to someone easy to guess at, it can become a risk, if they have high rights

Tyhm 04-22-2002 12:35 AM

Ummmm...no.

zell12 04-22-2002 12:39 AM

umm.... what are you talking about? I'm talking about Local staff with out the right of 'setaccounts' can set the pass to their RC...

Neonight 04-22-2002 01:06 AM

Jagen:
it could be a risk...maybe stefan should allow full level 4 (rights, not admin level) RCs to view the passwords, that could help prevent a risk, if someone's password is too easy, just check the banned box

zell12 04-22-2002 03:11 AM

you can't see the password when you open the account -_-
and also, I don't know why you guys think that adminlevel has someting to do with yor ability to do commands...
adminlevel >0 is a player with no rights
adminlevel >1 can be a local staff account, or it can be set to other worlds using adminworlds.
adminlevel >3-4 is usually a global staff like an Account Mananger, Stefan, or Unixmad

Jagen:
I said MAYBE Stefan should add a feature and you're wrong about some of the admin levels
0 = normal
1 = regular, local staff accounts (can be global, all you need to do is change the admin worlds to all)
2 = Stefan2 and Zorro
3 = Noone
4 = account administrators
and you forgot 5
5= THE admins of graal (stefan, unixmad, and Thym use to have one about a month ago)

zell12 04-22-2002 09:48 AM

1 Attachment(s)
and why is it that I get an error when searching for adminlevel >5?
Its because there is none -_-

Neonight 04-24-2002 08:40 AM

Jagen:
uhh, that means adminlevel is greater than 5, do adminlevel=5
-_-''

zell12 04-24-2002 07:10 PM

read that txt document that was given to me from Stefan, it shows that adminlevel has nothing to do with local rights

Graal518 04-26-2002 04:45 PM

There is an adminlevel=5. I saw it myself, and I know I'm not on drugs, or seeing things.

It does influence which accounts you can edit if you have the proper rights.

zell12 04-28-2002 03:27 AM

Kyle has level 4 but cannot set rights.... the only thing he can do (If he has level 0 on a playerworld) is set accounts... no mater what right he has. So, thats not a local right

What I meant was that you can not edit accounts of people with a higher admin level then you have.

I was a bit unlcear on that.

zell12 04-28-2002 08:39 PM

Well, we know that, but if you have a a local staff account with level 1 rights +'setrights/setaccounts' and the other person has level 4, you can change their account
