WeirdmanI9 05-13-2001 04:30 AM

I got an idea. How about me make sort of like "trading cards" for each other and post our characters on them, and on a place where it shows the back, we would put stats, etc. I am making an example right now.

05-13-2001 04:30 AM

I like that idea.

Cloud_X 05-13-2001 04:31 AM

I was thinking of that but people would just be like
save as wahooo now i have 2 trading cards ect ect

WeirdmanI9 05-13-2001 04:34 AM

I think people should just have them in their sigs or something, and maybe a web site with a trading system i could program, i bet everyone would be trying to get a Stefan card. ;)

smallballn13 05-13-2001 04:34 AM

i like it

Cloud_X 05-13-2001 04:37 AM

I love it i actually was going to script trading cards that you trade in graal and can buy from a card shop that gets random people in now and then.......

That would be cool if we had something like that go up.=D

And maybe you could submit your own card or something.

Cloud_X 05-13-2001 04:43 AM

Thats exactly what i was thinking....You can trade and stuff and then sell them back to the store. The store sells mystory card and other cards for alittle more then the current value. Cards that are less around are worth more so if you had like the only 4 cards in the place you could destroy 3 and sell the other as a rarer card

WeirdmanI9 05-13-2001 04:55 AM

Here is a sample card.

This is sort of like a basic layout for a card, i didn't add the stuff for the back, yet, but for the Graal 2001 card idea, I could script that easily, i better work on it tonight and see what you peeps think. The card layout is just a size definition and what it should look kinda like for the main picture on front.

no you couldnt well i doubt you could taking into consideration trading use of npc server ect it would take more then one night >.<

Cloud_X 05-13-2001 04:58 AM

hrmmm yes great pic!
There could be a whole trading card game cause there is this program to play like card games online it owns!
There could be like...
Event Cards
Human Cards
Bomy Cards
and item lol

WeirdmanI9 05-13-2001 04:58 AM

Yeah, the NPc server would be kinda hard, but with a server without an NPC server it shouldn't be hard at all. Maybe I can send it to Stefan and he can help me get the scripts for the NPC server, and sorts.

Cloud_X 05-13-2001 04:59 AM

Well actually maybe it shouldnt be on g2k1 just maybe webbased it would be funner that way i think cause it would be near to impossible to script a card game between two players!

WeirdmanI9 05-13-2001 05:01 AM

Yeah, it would be, but I think I could do it, though, if I manage to get it a good card game, I think I'll submit it or something. (No, I won't make my unholy Shady card the strongest, either ;))

trust me you cannot script a head to head battle to good with graal script and there is no chance if you dont know npc server =[
Make it web based like you were going to before i posted my idea it would be kewler that way

WeirdmanI9 05-13-2001 05:04 AM

I'll make the web-based thing first, then I'll work on a Graal version. (It is possible, I'll at least get it put on a non-NPC Server server, but do you wanna help with the web-based or anything?

psihunter 05-13-2001 05:05 AM

That be kewl
sort of like Magic: The Gathering type of deal?

StoneColdRichie 05-13-2001 05:05 AM

sounds good

but i still dislike you because by posting this you're not living up to the deal. that makes you honorless, which makes you a jerk.

WeirdmanI9 05-13-2001 05:06 AM

Sort of, that would be a cool idea. Maybe I could pitch in weapons in there, too, brb.

vergil 05-13-2001 05:08 AM

I'll make one for myself

psihunter 05-13-2001 05:09 AM

I'll try to make me one
whats the ##x##???

IceHawk 05-13-2001 05:09 AM

Damn, those are cool!

IceHawk 05-13-2001 05:11 AM

cards

Cloud_X 05-13-2001 05:12 AM

ill help with ethier version i guess i also know NPC server scripting aim me at Rcrossbone sometime

WeirdmanI9 05-13-2001 05:16 AM

Well, of the weapon card there will be a picture of the weapon, and below it, it says the weapon name, then below that it tells how much damage is done. I think for the Fireball thing it should be 1 damage, sword .5 damage, and so forth, but for the special attacks you need magic (not on Graal 2001 yet, but who said we couldn't pitch in a little spice?).

er,.

A web based card game? That's extremely difficult. I don't even know if I could do it.

Do you know anything about Perl or PHP at all..?

WeirdmanI9 05-13-2001 05:33 AM

Yeah

vergil 05-13-2001 05:35 AM

....ooooooooooooookay

Anyway I think your card layout could have more detail on the front. Where to put the text, the title, everything else..

WeirdmanI9 05-13-2001 05:36 AM

Pearl is good.

That was just a basic layout of what it should look like.

Kaimetsu 05-13-2001 05:40 AM

Oh man, I can see that there'll be arguments here...

"No! My card should be more valuable!"

"Mine should be able to do an uber fire rain attack!"

"Mine should be gold!!!"

vergil 05-13-2001 05:41 AM

it's Perl...

Anyway, so how would you do the trading actually? Both people would have to be logged in to agree, and if someone closes the browser window or gets disconnected then the logged in crap can get messed up..

I'd think each account would have to have an "inbox" where proposals are stored. Every account would have a ton of variables to keep track of..
proposal #1.. card 1.. card 2... card 3 ... FOR card 1.. card 2.. card 3...

proposal #2...
..
all the way to 6.

Then each account would need it's own card stack.

Do you want an entire GAME too? wow... you'd need Flash for that..

Kaimetsu 05-13-2001 05:43 AM

I say GScripting it would be easier. I'd volunteer if I had time, but I think it can be done one way or another.

Perl, pearl, whatever in the freak it is (I'm used to spelling out pearl) I'm good at it. People would do trading by one player online doing a special trade option to another player, and the other player chooses what he wants to trade, and you hit trade, both must agree on it, and 'voila! You have a trade.

actually, i think the only reasonable way IS gscript, but even that gets complicated when you to a game. Scripting the cards/trading would be easy. Just use the Trading techonology already there and allow players to "look at" (show an image) or their card whenever they want to. The game itself would be really hard

Kaimetsu 05-13-2001 05:50 AM

Hard, but possible. I think it could be done. Especially now we've got triggeraction.
