I think...and most people will agree

the original Even Lands...Heres proof:
EL was the first and ONLY server to get more players at one time than Classic PRE-2001.

Either that or original G3k, it was just fun and simple. It was so sloppy, it was like playing on your own nooby levels, lol. But, it was great.

Hey I was GP there.

Yeah damasca was cool. 1.28 damasca was the best however, But Damasca is legal, so they stoped the 1.28 as soon as unixmad complained to them.

heh

I used to have a server on 1.39....it was fairly kewl, fairly modern...but, lots of missing tiles and scripting features. Most NPCs didnt work, because the NPCserver that came with it wouldnt work...so you couldnt warp by NPCs, because the command was serverside, and that side of the server wasnt there. It turned into a staffweapon/pk private server, but it didnt lag at all, because it was privately hosted :p. It was taken down cause it sucked, and it was illegal.
It was hard to set up though, i know that much, and you can't run it on your computer unless you have Linux with MySQL installed.

TrueHeaT 04-05-2002 08:18 AM

it was alright i guess
pretty overrated if you ask me

AlexH 04-05-2002 08:23 AM

Can't say I was here when Damasca was up so I dunno what it was like. :(

it had almost the same people everyday, besides the occasional people who poke in to see what it was like

it was like 2k1 with more events, npcs, etc.

zerofx, how did you get the gani npc? i could never guess the number :(

TrueHeaT 04-05-2002 08:41 AM

I played on it.. it was like a big empty world, and you occasionally saw these big monsters that were buggy as hell and didn't move right, and buggy birds getting stuck on the side of the level, and buggy etc etc etc

I had a whole bunch of NPCS uploaded because they were my "Fun go on killing rampage fun fun OFF DUTY weapons" that I used occasionaly, if I did kill some one, I gave them back their money (OK!?@)

The gani NPC? I'm not sure if I remember, its been so long.

you know. that evil guy in that evil town that made you guess numbers over and over until you hit the correct one. i remember spending at least one hour there one day.

triple sword :)))))

DeathChill 04-05-2002 08:53 AM

Didn't they get taken down because their "tileset" was ripped Zelda stuff?

TrueHeaT 04-05-2002 08:54 AM

yeah that too
they just ripped off zelda even more than graal did :\

One world looked exactly like the Zelda:A link to a past: just edited so much.

There was no "tileset" mess up, Its just that they had the level layout from there, and plus, other people were jeleous.

TrueHeaT 04-05-2002 08:59 AM

yeah plus there was the whole tileset mess up

Yup, it was so fun getting EXP so I could learn more skills as a thief. Best playerworld I've seen in the longest time.

Lyndzey 04-05-2002 09:33 AM

I went on Damasca when Classic was down. I would sit in this little place. And sit, and sit, and sit...

and I would ask you to marry me and you would be like "Get away freak" and I would be like that skunk in bugs bunny?

haha that was funny :)

Jinx 04-05-2002 10:35 AM

Trueheat, the "Empty Empty world with occasional big monsters" was the continent of Makarda...

I can count the nubmer of hours I spent on the continent on one hand.

Anyone remember Trunker? Trunker2? *sigh*

The flight system was cool.

Didn't they get taken down because kreep delted all his levels/npcs and quit? I remember logging on one day and I was stuck in Wacky World(Which wasn't even completed :( ) , and I couldn't get out because the rest of mag was deleted.

I still have a bunch of old screenshots from it.

[edit] and psyker, that guy was insane. You had to guess the correct number between 1 and 5000, and it changed everytime.
What I did, was I got together with 5 or 6 of my freinds. Dart Zader didn't script it so only the person who guessed right would get it, so we all sat there for the next half hour guessing the number "1" over and over and over again. Finally one of us got it and we all got the Gani Changer =).

LoL, I remember I would use that to set my gani to 'badbobidle', so I would appear as a chest, and set my nickname as "Get a better sword here!" or something, and sit where lots of noobs walked by.... then a noob would come up....... heheheh...

I would get my speed boot npc, my god mode npc, and run around droping money in the water and watch people longing just to be able to jump into that water and get it.. or onto a cliff..

and there were like millions of gold rupees droped.

Elven Lands was only popular because it had all kinds of mega-killer and easy to use weapons, which mostly had infinite uses due to the fact that their systems didn't work properly. I played there for the heck of it once and got more then 500 kills in far less then an hour in a barely visited spot. :/

Neonight 04-05-2002 09:27 PM

I had a really big problem with my Graal. It might have been my location...?

I never did get to play Dolphonia nor Damasca because they never showed up on my serverlist. :(

Then you must have been doing something weird, because it took !Mr. Matrixaplix about a year to get 10,000 kills. Graal scripting back then wasn't very good, and you couldn't control errors like you can now.

It was 1.40, I had set my race to high elf, I could endlessly use the weapon I got, despite the fact that I had no MP left.

All of it was perfectly normally possible without bugs with the Graal scripting as it was back then. Especially in the case of NPC Weapons, those could easily be perfectly tested offline since they work in exactly the same fashion both online and offline.
And to mention the last thing, most of the Graal scripting then for non-P2P is still exactly the same as it is now.

I would like to see CDA come back.
Not with Link as owner, I don't think he liked me too much. But Gohan and Phayze they were all cool.

IonFlux2001 04-06-2002 11:10 AM

Old Bravo my fav =)

DarkPyro_2001 04-07-2002 04:10 AM

I liked CDA, but then it was supposedly "hacked" and the levels were "lost", but CDA freak Rice, who I honestly think has died, claims to have had all of the CDA levels, or at least most of them. :p
