Bomy Pets

Why did they make it so you can only have one Bomy pet on each acct? That is so stupid.

I beleave when gen4 comes out we can have more than 1 at a time

cds96 03-28-2002 02:05 AM

i remember when i had 4 bomys on 1 account

The Cyberpoc Bomy is a showimg from an NPCW instead of the old-school database NPC, meaning all data are stored in clientside strings (explaining why no co-owners). The controls are within an NPCW, and it would require a MASSIVE overhaul to accept two bomies. I miss the Gen 2 bomies...the new ones can be ridden but that is the only advantage.

thats what the old ones did, you can add almost any command and owners.. also I think koni is the one working on gen4

I used to own 2 golgs at once. It was the red one and the gray one. Now I own no bomys at all. :(

the most i ever had was 4 also, i had birce 1 visio 4 and blindo 0 also cyclops.... then i would get all my co-owned bomys and make them follow me.... then go to someone's playerhouse and leave the bomys there with annoying commands on them so fun

c0nsp1racy 03-28-2002 04:21 AM

what were gen1 bomys?

Gen1 bomies were sort of like Gen2 but you couldn't program commands for them, you could just do stuff like say "follow" "hide" "play <emotion>" etc. You could just say out the pre-programmed commands and stuff.. I don't think you could add co-owners either.

Gen2 would be the one with programming 20 commands that allowed more stuff and being able to add owners

Gen3 is what is currently up

Gen4 will supposedly be like Gen2, except improved, with more programming capabilities, being able to equip items to the bomies, riding, feeding, and eventually bomy pet battling but I don't think that will be out for a while since all the developers seem to always be doing something else.. SK might be working on it also, I haven't gotten very far, just did some looking over of the old gen2 version and planning for gen4.

I don't really know if I will be on 2k1 much longer, I have been busy with Oasis and other things so much lately that all I can do when I get on 2k1 is admin for 10 minutes and leave. =/

How will bomys with gen4 work? will you still be able to put them away or will you have to leave them somewhere?

magicbud3344 03-28-2002 05:52 AM

how does SK work on so many things? do they have a magical program or somthing?

Hopefully they won't be a cyberpoc you can just put away with a menu. It is preferable and more stable to have a database NPC. There are plenty of places to dump your bomy...perhaps bomies could be given an ability to home to a certain place specified by the owner? If I only had a genuine copy of the G2 bomy script I could probably make something acceptable as a fourth generation bomy. (I could add riding easily with attachplayertoobj and a few playerx, playery, and sprite declarations, and feeding if that nuisance is really wanted)
