We need a...

Good classic feeling playerworld.

Someone basically needs to make a playerworld, that has classic type level design, and have it be nothing like p2p or anything.

Basically, it would be about pking, and sparring. Guilds would be important, and there would be a variety of guilds (sort of like kingdoms but really just clans) These clans would have their own area, and guildhouse and such. The clans could form alliances with other clans, or could become enemies against clans.

There would be clan stats, based on how many kills to deaths the clan has as a whole, and the spar rating that the clan has as a whole (if possible) the best clan would emerge from that. There could be clan wars and things of the sort, but the basic purpose of the playerworld is for that and that alone.. interacting with other players, joining groups, making friends, making enemies.. perhaps the clans could have advantages and disadvantages, like one clan has a lot of health, while another clan has a lot of speed, and another has a lot of power.

Just a thought.. I know there are "kingdoms" and "guilds" on Graal now.. but there aren't servers 100% dedicated to roleplaying in a clan like this and I think it would be fun. Take away the jobs, the quests, the minigames, and just have good old fashion clan wars. :)

If you have recently played Classic, you would know that that is what Classic is like. It is about sparring and guilds, plus PKing.

Many playerworlds have started out with intent similar to the one your propose, but most of the time, sadly, the plan degenerates somewhere along the way and it turns out just like all the others. It would be nice if that didn't happen for once, though...

Classic USED to be like that.. now I go on there and it's just people calling others names and killing eachother non-stop.. there aren't guild wars like there used to be, and sparring always gets ruined and stuff.. it's not like it used to be.. plus Classic has all those disadvantages of making you get "heras" and more powerful stuff in order to get an advantage.. I just want a server that isn't unfair to anyone that starts playing.

There could perhaps be several guilds styled after different types of people, such as a group of thieves, group of outlaws, etc. Then just have about 10+ of those and they have regions on the worldmap where their clans reside.. (not just one guild builiding but an entire area) everyone is neutral at the start and must try out for a clan in order to make it into the clan.

Maybe even have treasure that each clan has that can be stolen by other clans, and like I said, you could have clans team up in order to have both clans guard their treasure or something. (the treasure would be cool if it was a bunch of stuff in a room that could be carried, and the opposing clan would have to run in and try to take it and run back to their clan's area.

There would need to be a simple way to balance them out though, so that one clan doesn't grow too large and take over everything like a dictatorship. Perhaps fake funding and you have to pay for the well being of each clan member that you have.

Like, you get 10,000 gralat in assets each month, and you only have that much to spend unless you have stolen from others. That way, if you have a big clan, you have to keep up with the funding or you lose members. :)

errr... I'm makin sorta "future" one like that :) well sorta corporations and stuff and yeah you would take over buildings and production sites (which is limited)

My very first playerworld I made is named Archemedes.. It has Classic type levels and alot of quest and stuff I still have it.

konidias 03-28-2002 04:24 AM

I'm willing to make this server in my spare time when I get tired of working on Oasis all the time. It would be fun to make.. question, should it be p2p, or non-p2p?

Having it not be p2p would allow lots more people to play, but then again, it would allow people to cheat and use hacks and stuff also (a lot easier anyway) So what should it be? Maybe it would be better p2p since there wouldn't be any limits to what can be done and maybe it would give people that paid something else to be glad they bought an upgrade.

If anyone want's to help with ideas or levels perhaps, then message me on aim (my aim is konidias) and we can get this done in less then a month or so.

Like I said, I can't work on my pw 24/7 because I would get so sick of it that I would quit it all together, so it would be nice to take a break from making graphics in order to make a basic server with a nice overworld and fun gameplay without needing to make graphics and stuff. :)

Quests are needed for stuff like hearts and NPCs but don't make unbelievable quests like on 2k1 make quests like are on classic.

Long quests for more than one thing and itsw a task given to you by a NPC character

Pinktaco 03-28-2002 06:04 AM

The closest server I can think of to what you want is Shaded Legends, alright server.

gloop 03-28-2002 06:08 AM

i had a great idea

ok, i sent this to koni on aim, but i dont thik he got it

a server all about sparring

everybody would start off with 1 heart. lvl 1 shield, lvl 1 sword, 5 grallets, and 10 exp, when you beat someone in a sparr, you would get like 1/4 of the grallets they had, and 1/5 of there exp, and the person that you beat would go down that much

with grallets, you can buy things such as more hearts, and better weapons/shields etc

with exp you can get into better sparring rooms, like rooms that will let you set the % of money and exp you are playing for

there would only be 5 guilds, and they would have npc to add members

what do you think, i think it would really catch on

Quests aren't needed, that's the entire point. It isn't a server to go questing for stuff on.. you get everything you need when you start. Having quests and stuff just makes people have to go through hell to get items that all the older players have already and it's kind of a pain in the neck questing for everything when all you want to do is spar and pk with the older players. When I go on classic now (haven't done anything since the reset besides get gloves) I have no life, no good speed, no good sword power, no good weapons. I don't feel like questing for all that stuff but I want to be able to fight with the other people. It's stupid if that is what you want to do.

royce 03-28-2002 06:50 AM

Go non P2p ....All the free players like to do is pk...Most people on p2p just pk for money. You are right about Classic though being of what it now is.

I would go non p2p, but I have decided to go p2p simply because I need an npc server for some things. Plus it will make money non-hackable, which is important, since clans will sort of survive on money. (no this isn't like 2k1)

Every week, each clan is given funds, and they can spend the funds on items, powering up players, etc. Also, money will be stored in the clan's treasury, and a certain amount must stay in for the week after the funds have been given. (meaning if your clan has nothing in the treasury, and gets 5k that week, half of it must stay in the treasury for the week.

Money in the treasury can be stolen by other clans, giving a reason to protect something :) Money is a bit different from the other servers though, I have scripted a system where the player must pick the gralat up from the ground and carry it for a short period of time, until the gralat becomes "theirs" and disappears. This means that when you kill someone and try to steal their money, you will have to literally pick up the money and run away from that persons friends so you don't get hit and drop it. :D

thats why old classic should come back

All I have to say is good luck finding players.

The guild thing you are describing looks almost just like what Mystaria had. The owner of the PW dissapeared with all the levels a couple months ago though...

Unholy Nation could be developed like that. But yet Old Bravo was exactly like that
