Well, Spanky said he is getting flamed for the name of his playerworld which i started like a year and a half ago. I made up the name then, then I gave up on the playerworld so I just gave the name to him.

I didn't get the name from Dragonlance, whatever that is... I made it up. It's just cooincidence.

First online gets the name. Simple as that. I've seen lots of people come up with names and complain about it after someone else uses it after when they abandon what they were doing.

That's pretty lame though.. first online? So for example, I spend months and months and months working on Oasis, some guy comes along, with some old crappy pw he has, changes the name to Oasis, and gets it online, that means I have to change my playerworlds name? That would be crappy beyond belief

Idea: Don't name your Playerworld until it's finished.

dont hate the player, hate the game ...

That makes sense, and yet it does not. Like in the levels, signs would be like

"Welcome to an unnamed playerworld!" "in the world of this unnamed landmass..." etc.

er... change the name a bit to --> Oasis:The Better One

I've ended up in this situation more than once somehow.
I was helping out with this playerworld called Avalon a looong time ago and there was a problem when the staff broke in half and went their separate ways. It happened again with another world named Armageddon. Now it happened with Everworld, only thing is the people working on the other everworld have nothing to show (no maps, no screens, no nothing), except for a site with 20 million broken links and Everworld slapped across it, and they are certainly no part of my staff and never was. Pretty weird that I end up in situations like these.

Umm the name is not taking from another playerworld... Its something in a book called DragonLance... lol

In a crappy playerworld, someone probably would go "welcome to <pw name>", but in a quality world, with a thick plot and much to do, the name would only be mention in story...such as "There is one way to defeat him...the Murasamune". See what I mean? People think that way you do now because they haven't seen anything quality yet. For me, the second a see a sign which says "Welcome to Pw Name" I instantly put my rating of it down a few points. Its just unprofessional, and ruins any plot you may have...

well probably good for greeting though :) (like a level where intros about the server being made)
