Someone sent me some email that says:

Subject: Hi new staff level tool
From: Stefan Knorr <[email protected]>

Hi!

This konidias? birdbird or someone gave me this one for level useage.
Well, hope it is but we have new staff tool, it is for developers
and such just give me your acct. and pass and I will set you up and
give you page.

Now I'm no idiot, Stefan never contacts me over e-mail, and Stefan never asks for my account and pass. :rolleyes:

All parts of the email can be faked and most
mail servers doesn't check if the sender is correct,
so the only way to do secure things is using PGP

That ploy is just as dumb as the one with AIM guild bot that needed your name and pass for a guild verification

I don't think it's Hawk either, it's possible to fake every part in an E-Mail, and for as far as we know it might even be another Hawk.

hmm, this is interesting, because some guy named Hawk sent me a copy of a message supposidly from Stefan on ICQ that Stefan wanted him to help us on Npulse, and Hawk was wanting us to make him an RC account, but someone posted that Hawk is a PW inspector or something, I emailed Stefan about it but of course never got a reply....I am confused

this is no worse than the time last October when weirdmani9/t3ck spoofed as both stefan AND unixmad and tried to trick me into thinking that I was going to be junior gamemaster lolol
